CAFÉ MICO — Restaurant in Hyderabad

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the lack of service. Service at this place is non-existent, even with a dedicated person. There is only one person at the reception who seemed more concentrated on playing songs than taking care of the customers. We had to walk ourselves to a table, only to find it wobbly. After moving to another table, we discovered it was dirty, and looking around, it seemed that almost everyone else was facing the same issue.

The ambience left much to be desired. The decor felt outdated and uninviting, and the menu cards were old and covered in several spots, making it unappetizing to even look at what they had to offer. When I finally called the staff member to place our order, we could barely hear him speak, and he was not much help in picking their best items. We ordered rolls and two mojitos to start, asking him if we should stick with the rolls or replace them with their best dish. He suggested an Indo-Chinese dish, and we agreed to that.

As we completed placing the order, I realized I wanted to change one of the drinks immediately. When I called him back to make the change, his response shocked me. He said I couldn't cancel the item since it was already placed, despite the fact that he hadn’t even sent it to the kitchen. I questioned this, and he still insisted I couldn't cancel it, instead offering to replace it with the drink I wanted and lose the remaining amount.

To our surprise, he brought out both items instead of just the one he suggested. The rolls were okay, but the other dish was terrible, and the quality of the chicken seemed questionable. No one checked on us to see if the items were satisfactory, and we had to ask for plates after the food was served, which showcases the level of service.

This place is often visited by college students looking to take pictures and make reels. I wasn't expecting much from the food based on prior reviews, but I was also disappointed in terms of ambience. I would not suggest this place for dates or meet-ups, as it has nothing special to offer compared to other cafes, which likely have better food and service. Overall, my experience at this place was unsatisfactory, and I left feeling...

Cafe Mico is right off the main road in Dilsukhnagar area and is such a convenience for us as it is just 5 mins away!! We went in for a date lunch on Feb 14 2025!

Good enough parking in front of the building and they have a valet service too!

The entry is from the backside of the building via a lift till 4th floor and you have to take stairs to 5th floor! They have outdoor & indoor seating areas and a live band on most weekend Pradeep said; he suggested to follow the Instagram page for live updates!

The staff on the job trained and i guess they need more training and etiquette learning!

We ordered 3 items only - Farmer Fresh Pizza, Italian Veg Sizzler and Chocolate Brownie Shake.

The Chocolate Brownie Shake was lip smacking but a bit more sweeter than needed! The Farmer Fresh Pizza was very well baked with a thin crust base and the tomato sauce was tasteful and really fresh tasting! The Italian Veg Sizzler was quite a surprise, in a good way! The gravy and all the veggies were well sauted but still a bit crispy, the way we like. The rice part was little spicy but the combo together melted away in mouth and had a nice after taste left in the palette!

Pradeep did a good job on our table and soft spoken guy!

One suggestion I have is to change the menu books - They are so sticky and dirty...do not clean them but get rid of them and try another type of menu, like a simple print outs in a transparent sleeves!

The GST is valid and active!

The place is a good try and I recommend you all to go and please try the food here and do not forget to add your pics/review so it is helpful for others!

Edit - I think smoking is allowed in the outdoor seating areas...

I would highly recommend trying their signature cocktails and mocktails, which added an extra layer of sophistication to the dining experience.
