Fresh Update: Visited once again, and we were treated to personally by the chef (thanks to Mr. Deepak and his lovely hospitality) to a lovely Jalapeno Amla Chicken Tikka dish. The presentation was great with its smokey flavor and nature. A must try when you are visiting next!
Update: A diwali dinner meant their signature black dal and roti was had along with some chicken tikka.
A fantastic place for a meal! The ambience, set in a tropical theme is almost immediately appreciated as you enter O'Rica with its planters all around, wooden and earthen themes and very inviting ambience. As the Summer begins in Hyderabad, one needs a cool place to "chill" at and we happen to stop by O'Rica on a weekday afternoon for lunch recently. While there is seating outside, thankfully there is a good amount of seating available inside too, so we were able to stay in the shaded and cooler part on what was clearly a scorcher of a day. It was rather peaceful given it was a weekday and only a few tables being occupied, making it serene for us to enjoy our lunch. We were greeted by Deepak, the owner who was kind enough to recommend we try dishes based on their newly created menu that had only just been added that day! He was also kind enough to satisfy my itch for good pad thai that day but also recommended a really refreshing cooler mix drink. In addition we ordered spring rolls which were crispy on the outside and had a wonderfully tasty stuffing that was enhanced with their sweet and spicy dips. I particularly enjoyed the dim sum and its presentation with a translucent look and unique texture that would just melt in your mouth. The really unique thing I observed was an egg coating around the Pad Thai noodles, which I haven't seen anywhere else! Overall, the presentation of all of the food was great, the ambience is lovely (we are told there is a live musician/band that plays regularly) and the staff really friendly! Highly recommend O'Rica should you be in Kompally or in the area at any...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of visiting Orica Services' Tropical Kitchen, and I must say that it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the subpar service to the disappointing food, there was hardly anything positive to take away from this visit.
Firstly, the service was absolutely abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional, showing a lack of basic courtesy and attentiveness. Our orders took an unreasonably long time to arrive, and even then, they were riddled with mistakes. It was evident that the staff had little regard for customer satisfaction.
Unfortunately, the food did not fare any better. The quality was far from satisfactory, and it was evident that corners were cut in the preparation process. The dishes lacked flavor and were poorly presented. It felt like the ingredients used were of low quality, leaving us feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied. It was a shame to witness such a disregard for the culinary experience.
Furthermore, the manager's attitude only added to our disappointment. When we attempted to address our concerns and express our dissatisfaction, the manager was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation, they seemed more interested in brushing us off. This lack of accountability only reinforced our negative perception of the establishment.
Overall, I would strongly advise against visiting Orica Services' Tropical Kitchen. The subpar service, lackluster food, and indifferent management all contribute to an incredibly unsatisfying dining experience. There are plenty of other options in the area that prioritize customer satisfaction and offer better quality food. Save yourself the disappointment and explore other dining...
Read moreMy recent visit to this place was an absolute delight! The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and I opted for the outdoor area, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The space was beautifully decorated with lush greenery, creating a refreshing and serene atmosphere. Dining under the open sky, surrounded by nature, made the experience even more enjoyable.
The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The staff made sure everything was perfect, adding a personal touch that elevated the overall experience. Their professionalism and hospitality truly stood out.
As for the food, I mostly went for the Chef’s Specials from the menu, and I must say, they didn’t disappoint! The soup was comforting, the salad was fresh and well-balanced, and the mocktail was a delightful burst of flavors. The highlight of my meal was the Thai curry, which was an absolute bliss—rich, aromatic, and packed with the perfect blend of spices.
The only downside was the Thukpa. Unfortunately, its gravy felt too oily and overwhelmingly spicy, lacking the depth of flavors I was hoping for. A bit more balance in seasoning would have made it just as enjoyable as the rest of the dishes.
Overall, O'Rica impressed me with its scenic ambience, outstanding service, and mostly delicious food. Despite the slight letdown with the Thukpa, I would love to visit again and try more from their menu. If you’re looking for a restaurant with great food, impeccable service, and a refreshing outdoor dining experience, this place is definitely...
