recently visited Spicy Restaurant after a friend recommended it, saying that they serve one of the best biryanis in Hyderabad. With that hype in mind, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the expectations. To start with, the ambience was below average—it felt more like a typical, no-frills dine-in spot with minimal effort on atmosphere or comfort.
I ordered their Chicken Biryani and Tangdi Kebab. The biryani, which I had high hopes for, turned out to be strictly below average for my taste. The flavor didn’t click at all, and it lacked the richness and balance I usually expect from Hyderabadi biryani. What disappointed me more was the chicken piece—they had served just one very small leg piece, which didn’t feel right for a dish that’s meant to be hearty and fulfilling. The quantity and quality of both the chicken and rice were not up to the mark.
However, the Tangdi Kebab came as a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect much after the biryani experience, but it turned out to be quite tasty and well-cooked. Overall, there's a lot of room for improvement, especially in their biryani which was quite disappointing and it felt like good value for that particular item.

Read moreSometimes some restaurants are kept hidden from the limelight and yet garner hype and success. Spicy seems to be one of them. I have been hearing constant bragging about the biriyani of Spicy, ever since my friend started working in Jubilee Hills. So thought of paying them a visit. And to my surprise. it was on my biriyani list for a long time because of the smell that overflows the kitchen onto the road and lures you. I was always subjected to the aroma of the biriyani cooked here while traveling to Ameerpet.
So we ordered, 2 biriyanis for 3 people, one being double masala for me. The Biriyani was quite fantastic and the chicken was also succulent. The flavors were right to the core. While I like my biriyani spiced up to the max but still, the subtleness of the flavors of biriyani stole the show. The quantity for the price needs to be adjusted a bit.
The only thing that really worried me was the amount of oil or ghee sitting on my plate at the end of the meal. I suppose they use the maximum amount of ghee among all other stalwarts of biriyani.
Yes, the spicy's biriyani ranks among the top 5, I have tasted in Hyderabad but still would like the clarification about the above.
The service was a little slow. The ambiance could be decked up a little bit. There is not much to offer on the ambiance part. It feels like a normal restaurant serving normal dishes.

Read moreI recently visited Lucky Restaurant to try their Chicken Faham Mandi (Single), and the experience was excellent. I had earlier enjoyed the same dish at home by ordering through Swiggy, and it tasted amazing. Trying it fresh at the restaurant made me appreciate it even more, as the flavors were rich, the chicken was tender, and the dish was perfectly prepared.
The restaurant itself is simple, clean, and comfortable. It does not try to be fancy, but the focus clearly remains on serving good food, which I feel is the most important part of dining out. The overall environment was neat, and the staff ensured the place was well maintained.
What impressed me is the consistency in taste whether you order online or eat at the restaurant. Very few places manage to maintain that standard, and Lucky Restaurant surely does. Apart from the mandi, their biryani and tandoori chicken are also highly recommended and definitely worth trying if you are someone who enjoys flavorful meals.
Overall, Lucky Restaurant is a wonderful spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic mandi or biryani in a simple and pleasant setting. I will surely be...
