Date of stay: March
There are a lot going for this theme park hotel. I could have spent an entire day just photographing the butterflies in the park; or just chill out by the pool. Yet, the negatives just irked me.
What really ticked me off is the smell of cigarette in our room. Not only did they not have a non smoking rooms; strangely, they have post signs for not allowing smoking in rooms, and when you visit the restaurant, they make patrons snuff out their cigarettes. Yet, they have ashtrays in the room to promote smoking. We had to open the sliding door for half a day before I could breath easier. I woke up the next day with a bit of a sore throat.
On top of that, in typical Mainland manner, there is a lack care with their staff. I found a comb, a pen, and a pencil that is wrapped up in a ball of dust underneath the cushion blocks that were at the top of the bed. The commode smelled, that was probably from the bad plumbing. The elevator smelled of typical Mainland elevators, it smelled like cigarettes.
The resort could not get us a cab to head out. In fact, when we arrived, the taxi driver dropped us off at the foot of the hill. Usually, the guards would come and enquire about, and let the taxi up all the way to hotels' entrances. In this case, the guard just kept slacking off. This tells me that most drivers don't wish to go to this resort for some reason.
We booked the duplex, bad idea. The bed, or the cloth-on-board, on the loft was too hard, I could not sleep well. Furthermore, the A/C blows out of the bottom of the bed directly downstairs leaving the room rather stuffy. The curtains were too small for the window; you would get a good dose of sunshine bright and early.
There are probably better choice for the price we paid. The park and the restaurant would be a great place to...

I had an amazing experience at Evergreen Resort in Anantnag, Kashmir. The resort truly lives up to its name – surrounded by lush greenery, fresh mountain air, and the peaceful sounds of nature, it's the perfect escape from the chaos of city life.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully designed, offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The food was delicious – a good mix of local Kashmiri dishes and popular Indian cuisine.
What stood out the most was the tranquil atmosphere and the resort’s location – close enough to explore the beauty of Anantnag, yet tucked away enough to enjoy some quiet time. Whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure, Evergreen Resort is a great choice.
Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone wanting to experience the charm of Kashmir with comfort...
