I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Spice Story restaurant, and it was an experience worthy of a glowing five-star review. From the moment we walked in, the attention to detail and the warm hospitality set the tone for a memorable evening.
To start, the Cigar Roll and Dahi Kabab were absolute standouts. Not only were these dishes presented beautifully, but they also tasted phenomenal. The crispiness of the Cigar Roll paired with the creamy, flavorful filling was a delight to the senses. Similarly, the Dahi Kabab was melt-in-the-mouth delicious, with a perfect blend of spices and a tangy yogurt base that left us wanting more.
The ambience of the restaurant deserves special mention. The decor was tasteful and modern, with a cozy yet upscale feel that made for a very comfortable dining experience. Soft lighting and thoughtfully placed decor added to the overall charm, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions.
One of the highlights of our meal was the soup selection. The Minestrone and Manchow soups were particularly noteworthy. The Minestrone was hearty and packed with fresh vegetables, offering a burst of flavors in every spoonful. On the other hand, the Manchow soup was a spicy, flavorful concoction that provided the perfect balance of heat and taste. Both soups were a testament to the chef's expertise and attention to detail.
Another dish that we thoroughly enjoyed was the Kulcha. It was soft, fluffy, and perfectly baked, making it an ideal accompaniment to the other dishes we ordered. The subtle flavors and perfect texture of the Kulcha were simply delightful.
Service at The Spice Story was another aspect that impressed us. Despite being a busy evening, the service was fast and efficient. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and our orders arrived promptly, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any delays.
Overall, the great taste and quality of the food at The Spice Story, combined with the pleasant ambience and excellent service, made for a fantastic dining experience. Every dish we tried was a testament to the culinary skills of the chefs and the restaurant's commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to enjoy a good meal, The Spice Story is highly recommended. I can't wait to return and try more of their...

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I recently visited The Spice Story in Ratanada, Jodhpur, while on vacation from Chhattisgarh. I was looking forward to experiencing Rajasthan’s famous hospitality – “Atithi Devo Bhava” – but was deeply disappointed by the poor service and hygiene standards at this restaurant.
After enjoying our dinner on the fourth floor with my family, including my 1.5-year-old son, we called for the lift to go downstairs. To our shock, the lift was filled with five large dustbins overflowing with restaurant garbage. I politely suggested to the housekeeping staff member in the lift that they should transport garbage after the restaurant is closed or when there are no guests. Instead of addressing my concern, he informed the manager, who showed complete indifference to the situation.
The manager’s response was even worse. He rudely suggested that I use the stairs if I didn’t want to share the lift with garbage, leaving my family with no choice but to take the stairs with a toddler in tow. This was not only inconvenient but also hazardous. My wife was understandably upset by the lack of courtesy and basic respect shown to guests.
To add insult to injury, the staff member complained about their working conditions and pay, saying, “We don’t get a salary for guard duty,” instead of focusing on resolving the issue. This is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable in a place that claims to be a “best family restaurant.”
Overall, this experience showed a complete disregard for customer service, hygiene, and the safety of guests. I urge the management to train their staff properly, improve hygiene standards, and teach the basics of hospitality. I was expecting a memorable experience in Jodhpur, but this incident left a negative impression.
For those looking for a place that respects their guests and maintains proper standards, I would advise considering other restaurants in Ratanada.
Posting this review on Google will help alert other potential visitors and may encourage the restaurant management to make necessary improvements.

Our family (6 members) had made a reservation well in advance for dinner at this rooftop restaurant, and we were the first to arrive at the rooftop seating area. Despite booking our table ahead of time, we were not given our preferred seating with the excuse that it was already reserved. To our surprise, no one showed up to occupy those seats even by the time we left. This truly dampened our experience and left a poor first impression.
The service was downright disappointing. The service team needs a serious lesson in basic hospitality and human interaction—it felt like we were talking to robots. We asked to serve ourselves according to our preferences, but the server wouldn't listen and kept forcibly serving us. While we appreciate good meal service, it’s essential to respect our space and allow us to serve ourselves if we request it. We specifically requested that everything we ordered should be brought together at one go, even if it takes time, but the server decided not to do it. At this point, we stopped saying anything to them. We very well understand the flow, but when we are specifically requesting for everything to be brought together, then I don't get the logic why they would not do it. I mean, c'mon!
We were planning to go there for New Year's tomorrow, but now I will look for other options.
The food was average and nothing exceptional. The naan had a pronounced burnt flavor. Desert definitely did not taste fresh.. brownies were not good.. leaving us with an unfulfilled craving for something sweet.
The highlight of our evening was the live music, which is among the best in Jodhpur. We often visit other places in Jodhpur, and I can confidently say that this restaurant has some of the best live music in town.
This place has a good potential. Hopefully, the...
