Stopped here twice within 24 hours for evening tea, coffee, and snacks while on a road trip.

The coffee was decent and served promptly—just what you need on a long drive. I also tried their idli and vada, both well-prepared and fresh. While I didn’t get a chance to try the full South Indian meal, it looked quite appealing and seemed to be a popular choice with other diners.

They also sell a variety of locally made snacks—perfect if you like to carry something for the road or take a taste of the region home.

There’s ample parking space for both cars and buses, which is a big plus for highway travellers. However, the place isn’t wheelchair-friendly, which is worth noting.

Kamat Yatrinivas is an excellent stop for anyone looking for clean, tasty, and affordable vegetarian food. The ambience is simple yet spacious, and it’s perfect for travelers or families. Their thali is a must-try — freshly prepared, served hot, and full of variety. The rice, sambar, sabzi, chutney, and papad were all flavorful and satisfying.

The staff was courteous and service was quick, even when the place was a bit crowded. Hygiene standards were well-maintained, and the overall experience felt homely and comforting.

If you’re traveling through this route, I highly recommend stopping here for a wholesome South Indian meal....

My two stars are only for the place as it had shop at the entrance. They think only people who come on car can order more.and spend more. It was a tiresome travel from Gokarna to Bangalore on a private bus. The bus haulted at this spot for dinner. Myself and my sister who were super hungry, tried to order some chapati and Sabri. Right from the beginning the person was neglectful in taking order from our table. He said only Thali is available, hence we ended up ordering fried rice. But our next table was served with Chappati and Sabji. Not even warm water was served to our table. Such a worst experience we had. 🙏 please think...
