Café Coffee Day — Restaurant in Kanpur

During my time at IIT Kanpur, I visited this location. It was my go-to place. Because this campus is so large, you must first go to IIT Kanpur's Central Library and then walk outside to find this location.

The setting is quite cosy, and the atmosphere is serene in the morning. I used to get an expresso, a cappuccino, a café americano, a garlic break with cheese, and their amazing veg burger. That satisfied me completely. In the morning, coffee is quickly served.

When there are a lot of people around in the afternoon, the service may be a little slow. Late in the evening is also quiet. The employees are pleasant. The cafe is open daily. Because this location is inside IIT Kanpur, you can get subsidised food and coffee. The coffee prices are ridiculously low.

Excellent vibes outside the outlet. A fantastic place to spend time. They also have a quiet zone where you can sit and work for hours.

Seating capacity is also useful for group gatherings.

The staff was well-trained and very professional.

Overall, I had a great time there. If you are visiting IIT Kanpur, you should try this outlet.

I have been a student at IITK for four years and have literally lived in CCD sometimes. It's subsidised, but is also poorly maintained. Sometimes, the side near the food storage tends to smell. All the same, it is a great place to relax between classes or after them. In the recent past the menu has changed and there are quite a few good options. Here are some personal favourites:

Garlic bread 4.5/5. Wonderfully buttery and good quantity.

Crispy Veg Burger 4/5. It's great when they get it right.

Smoked chicken Sub 4.5/5. If you are non vegetarian just close your eyes and order this.

Crunchy Frappe 4.5/5. What's not to love about a drink made with Oreos?

Irish coffee 4/5. I love the way the sugar falls in and causes all that turbulence!

Twilight desert. 4.5/5. An affordable end to all your sadness. This is therapy! Cake, chocolate sauce and ice cream all for Rs. 64?!! What??

From the moment you step through the doors, you’re greeted with genuine smiles from Akash, Kartikey, Ankit, Piyush, Soham, Anant, Atul, Abhay and the entire team. Despite the constant rush, they always make us feel welcome and ensure each visit is a delightful experience.

The ambiance has a really good vibe, making it the perfect spot to unwind and catch up with friends. The dedication and hospitality of the staff are truly commendable – they always go the extra mile to serve with a smile, which really adds to the charm of the place.

My only feedback for the CCD management would be to consider adding some healthy salads to the menu and upgrading the seating arrangement. Even if it means making the few resident rats homeless, it would enhance the overall experience.
