Food is the one comfort that makes living away from home bearable. Over the last two years, I've visited Desi Dhaba more times than I could care to count. The food, of course, is unquestioningly good. The curries and portions are rich and wholesome. I've never walked away hungry or dissatisfied. If the taste wasn't enough, everything's priced within a student's reach, so you don't have to think twice before ordering another parantha. The service is prompt and relentless. But more than anything, I love the entrepreneurial spirit of the owner - there are constant micro-experiments going on here to improve the visitor's experience, and I really appreciate these. My only grouch is that the establishment should take care of the staff better - I've seen faces change too frequently and their general condition isn't encouraging. Perhaps, put up a tip box?
Pro Tip - By default, the food is laden with oil but they'll prepare it oil-free if you request emphatically. Also, try the lachha parantha instead of the regular rotis with the curry of...
Read moreI had the most horrifying experience ordering from Desi Dhaba. The food delivered was stale, rotten, and completely unfit for human consumption. Within hours of eating, I ended up in the hospital with food poisoning.
What shocked me even more was Zomato’s careless response. Instead of taking immediate action in such a serious food safety case, their support was robotic and dismissive. At one point, I was so appalled that I seriously considered filing a police complaint.
This is not just bad service, this is a public health hazard. I strongly urge @ZomatoIN, @bbmpcomm, @fssaiindia, and @BlrCityPolice to look into this outlet and conduct a thorough inspection of their hygiene and food preparation practices.
If you value your health, please stay far away...
Read moreThis place is Located at the entrance of GS Palya road and offers north indian food. The price of food items are reasonable and quantity is also good. But the service here is not that great. They give more priority to online orders and takeaways. When we visited, we had to literally go to the counter and tell our order to get service. Also it takes more time for the food to arrive at your table. Also they served bread before even the sides got ready. So we had to literally stare at the roti till the sides came and by the time the roti became cold. No washroom available. Parking will be an issue since it's near a very...
