We went to this beautiful place on a weekday afternoon, to celebrate my mother in laws birthday.
Inspite of the rains on that day, we enjoyed the visit and the beautiful weather.
As per the reviews I read, the roads are bad. However, I do not agree. The hotel is situated 1.5km from the main road and the roads are accessible.
So we tried the following dishes. But as we were 5 of us - we had to order 2 portions of each dish ( as the quantity served is small plate size)
Chilli garlic and Butter garlic prawns (5/5)(₹400) Prawns tossed in chilli and garlic sauce with fresh herbs and lemon. The prawn size was good and you get approx 5 prawns in the dish. If you are a prawn lover, you got to order more of this. The prawns were cooked to perfection and the both the chilli garlic and butter garlic sauce was delicious
Cajun wings - 5/5 (₹ 350) - crispy chicken wings fried with Cajuns spice. This was so good that I do not even have a picture of this. It got over in a minute.
Shish Tawook - 3.5/5 (₹ 380) - Charred grilled boneless chicken served with yoghurt dil sauce - I personally didn’t enjoy the chicken in this dish. However the salad and the dip was amaze.
Lamb bolognese - Taste -5/5, qty -3/5 (₹490) - Minced lamb bolognese topped over fettuccine with basil oil and Parmesan. The dish was lip smacking but the quantity was okay. I personally feel that Atleast the pasta quantity can be a little more even if not the meat. This is just a suggestion.
Spiced roast chicken (4/5) ₹450 - roast chicken served with mashed potato and veggies. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce complimented the dish.
Tres leches - they were kind enough to customise and were happy birthday on this plate to make my mom feel more special. Thank you for gesture.
Overall, this place has amazing food and great ambience.
Maybe one or two rice dishes can be added on the menu for elderly people.
We had a great time at the property and will definitely visit again
I visited again today after 6 months and ordered the same dishes, and was very...
Read moreI went to Kai Beach Resort for lunch with my family, including my baby and grandmother. It was raining heavily, and there was no security guard to assist with an umbrella. After we got drenched and walked inside, we ironically saw the security guard walking around with an umbrella – too late to be of any help.
The person at the reception (or whoever was inside) didn’t even bother to open the door for us, despite clearly seeing we were with an elderly person and a baby.
When we asked for a feeding room for our baby, the waiter casually suggested using the toilet. Seriously? Would the staff, manager, or owner eat their meals in a toilet? That was deeply upsetting and showed zero basic decency.
Coming to the food — it was terrible. Everything tasted like it had been frozen for ages. Nothing felt fresh, and every dish was served cold. Despite being presented as a fine-dining place, it’s nothing more than a café. The food was overpriced and tasted worse than what you’d get at a roadside stall.
I’ve visited many continental restaurants before, but this was by far the worst experience. The kitchen looked tiny and messy, far from the image they portray online. The staff seemed disinterested, like they weren’t even paid properly.
The quantity of food was disappointing, and the quality was even worse. They even served old, stale wasabi — it was clearly not fresh.
This place is not worth visiting — not even once. Don’t be fooled by the polished pictures on Google like I was. I regret going there. Save your money and avoid this place completely. One of the worst...
Read moreI had to wait an hour to get a table and a further 1.5 hours to receive the most overpriced, disappointing food I’ve had in a long time. The calamari rings were nothing better than a dish that could’ve been put together in 5 minutes. The name Crispy chicken burger was quite ironic considering all the components of the dish were much closer to soggy than crispy. It’s like they intended for every dish to be an appetizer considering how long they took, but it just turned out to be upsetting. Every dish felt like it had been taken out of the fridge, reheated and then left to dry up before serving. We ordered 5 dishes amongst the 3 of us and the portion size was still inadequate. If you are looking to visit Kaai, I’d recommend you eat ahead and enjoy the ocean view while they take 3 hours to serve your food.
First, I’d like to make it clear that I did not insist on a spot reservation. I was asked if I would wait 40 minutes and we were more than happy to. The waiting time for the table is not the issue here. If we hadn’t made a reservation, does that qualify us for cold food and horrible hospitality. Instead of taking a review as constructive criticism, trying to turn it around as the fault of the customer, in my opinion, says enough about the spirit of the restaurant. I don’t think anyone appreciates being spoken to in a way that we got a table, so we must be lucky to have gotten food, irrespective of the standard. Having been offered free food post my review, I can rest assured that I will still not visit this...
