Kamat cafe is one of the oldest hotel in hubli market. Irrespective of time there are always people in it. There are two floors for service. You get normal tiffin service all the time like idli, dosa, poori and meals during lunch and dinner. Usually they dont provide menu for people who come for light refreshments. They also serve gobi manchurian, noodles, samosa. There is lot of comprise in taste and quality. Usually the food which has to be served hot is not hot at all. Taste is also not so great because they usually have customers who come over and eat whatever available. We tried idli, samosa and coffee, was vry pale. Packed sweets available. NEVER VISIT this hotel no matter how hungry you are . You will end up eating STALE food !!

We were here for lunch thinking KAMAT still has its reputation but it was the worst devision evevr !! We were pretty hungry . Waiter first manipulated us that we should take 3 punjabi taali each meal worth 210 rs!! It was not even worth 50rs. To our surprise they served us Stale food . Card rice was stale , if u drink soup u will vomit and palak paneer was a disaster.

We fought with waiter and cashier to the point where cashier himself agreed that food was STALE!!!. WE paid them half the price of total bill and cursed them .

I recommended you guys NEVER go to such hopeless...

At present this is the one of big hotel for vegetarians in Durgadbail Hubli and quite a popular one. This hotel is at-least two decades or has 20 years' of history. This is good place to have quick food, and have big menu of dishes. Best you can try is the South Indian meal. Popular other dishes are idli vada, Masala Dosa & Puri Bhaji. Crowded hotel at lunch hour. But, family area is at the first floor which is mostly crowded at noon. Price friendly.
