Madhuvan's Village aka " Village" is one of the best family restaurants here in Mangalore. I would rate this best family restaurant and here are the few reasons , but not limited to :

  1. Kid Friendly restaurant: It has a dedicated children's play area within the restaurants. Kids need not have to worry about listening to our boring conversation. They can eat what's on the table and head to play area which consists of swings, slides and other fun stuff, which i am unable to recall the name. Very safe area with minimum to no monitoring required.

  2. Ambience: The ambience is unique and diversified within the restaurant. One part you have the retro Mangalore interior and in other part you have the classic interior and you also get the pub vibe in certain areas. Based on your mood, you can just select where you want to sit.

  3. Great service with friendly staff : Staffs are very professional, friendly and have a good knowledge on what's in the menu.

  4. They serve Alcohol : Be it family who is open to have alcohol on the table to a strict no group. You will always find the restaurant to be peaceful , secure and safe. This purely has to do with standard of restaurant and customer.

These are some of the points to rate it as top family restaurant.

This restaurant being so popular, it's usually crowded and it's recommended to reserve a table. If not reserved, no worries but one have to wait for 15 min during crowded times.

They do not support valet parking, but they have one of the biggest parking spaces in Mangalore. Irrespective of how crowded the restaurant is, you will always find a parking spot ( restaurant private parking spot )for two wheeler and four which is also guarded by multiple security person.

Though the food rollout is but slow, the quality of food is amazing and they serve almost all the cuisine. Their speciality is mangalore cuisine. They also have live crab counter for the customer to pick a crab for dish. The prices are justified for the food quality and service and i will highly...

If you want the ambience, it's awesome. Well designed with a beautiful water wall and kids area. However that's it. Food is another end of the spectrum. Here is what we ordered and what our experience was: Chicken lollipop: batter was not as crisp, but more trouble was that I could smell some fish [wonder if the oil for frying was the same!]

Lamb chops: we wanted lamb chops on sizzler plate with Indian spices and we told the server. He recommend us to get another type of lamb chops which was better and not as dry... never trying is that it was more of British style lamb chops [bland ] and came with mash potatoes and boiled carrots. Server totally blew that.

Malai Kofta: this dish was white paste and tasted like hot melted malai kulfi...extremely sweet. When I asked the Server, he said that's how it is made. So he took it back and bought another malai kofta and this time was NOT sweet, but had no spices and salt. Tasted like thick cashew paste with cream.

Butter chicken: this was the first time I had butter chicken with big bone pieces cooked in what seemed like kadai or korma sauce. Taste was forgettable However from 3 and 4 we knew that chef has no idea of Mughlai dishes.

Harabara Kebab : this was actually good. Tasteful and I would order again.

Harayli chicken Tikka: this was the HIGHLIGHT of the dishes we ordered. Cooked to perfection and definitely worth ordering again.

Dum Biryani: again no knowledge of Mughlai. It tasted more like chicken curry rice. The aromatic spices and the semi dry texture of long grain basmati rice... nowhere to be seen.

I have eaten at really fancy places around the world and when the food is not what it should be, at least the server communicates clearly or discusses what's wrong.. but does not stick by the food given to you. After all you are spending your hard earned money.

Overall... Great Ambience forgettable to...

Not Worth Visiting 😕 . That Picture 📸 Is of The So Called Chicken 🐔 Biryani. No Gravy or Masala In the Chicken Biryani but Only Rice with 2 Leg Pieces Served on the First Time Served . After Demanding on for the Masala Content which is Supposed to be in the Biryani, the Waiter Gets the Gravy Separately 🤔 . On Again Demanding to get a Fresh Biryani , The Captain took the Biryani and After 25 minutes to be precise , He Served the Same Biryani with the Masala Content in it 🙄 . 😳 Shockingly this kind of Service is Not Expected from a Reputed Place like VILLAGE Restaurant 🙄. One Fish Order Given with the Biryani never Turned up for Atleast 25 minutes . After the Second Time Repeated Service of the Chicken Biryani Done , I Reminded the Captain for the Fish Fry Dish . By the Time the Chicken Biryani was Eaten , The Fish Fry Order Came with the Captain Rushing up . As a Matter of Fact , the Fish Fry costing Re. 580/- was Not Eaten but Packed up for Delivery Because the Hunger and Urge to Eat had gone Down till Then . Literally 35 minutes of Delay for an Fish Fry not Expected. Service was Very Slow and That Could be the Kitchen Orders Taken , AS the Captain Had Complained for the Slow Kitchen Deliveries. While Leaving I Questioned the Manager InCharge for Such a Kind of Service . THE REPLY GIVEN BY THE MANAGER WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL ONE . HE STATED THAT HE WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HE SAID " I AM SORRY FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE " . THAT WAS IT FOR HIM AND HE CONTINUED HIS BUSY CONVERSATION WITH HIS COLLEAGUE . My Family of 5 persons just had One thing to Say After Watching this Whole Scene of this Manager , HE SEEMS TO BE A BUSY MAN AND JUST IS IGNORANT TO CUSTOMERS. BETTER TO IGNORE THIS 😌 RESTAURANT FOR ANY FUTURE VISITS . AND NOT TO RECOMMEND ANYONE FOR THIS KINDA PLACE ....

Madhuvan's Village is one of the biggest Restaurant in Mangalore located at Yeyyadi. This property not only has an excellent ambience but also a huge parking space. It was in my must visit place from such a long time but never got chance to visit whenever I came to Mangalore. This time I gave break to my regular restaurants Machali and Giri Manja and tried this place and I was in complete awwww after looking at this beautiful property. • Ambience: They have indoor section and outdoor sections with different types of seating arrangements and also I am sure there might be 2-3 kitchens operational to manage such huge place. We opted for an indoor section on the first floor and the ambience was really delightful and each tables were placed bit far from one another so one could enjoy their private dining space. • Service: As the place is very huge they also need that much staff to manage the crowd. It was a weekday night but still the place was completely full hence the service was very slow so cutting one point over here. Stewards were attentive and very well managed our table. • Oota: Now the main reason for me going here was I had heard some good praises for their Chicken Ghee Roast and Butter Garlic Prawns so this was my first order and I loved the butter garlic prawns. It was just brilliant. Chicken Ghee Roast was good no doubt however I had tasted better one's. Also i tried Anjal Tawa Fry, Kane and Nang masala fry and these were good too. For Mains we went with Murgh Musallam and Butter Rotis. Murgh Musallam was fantastic and went very well with rotis. Overall I had good experience over here in terms of good food and excellent ambience. A must visit for all people coming to Mangalore for Vacations.
