We went to this place on a weekday afternoon and an it was such a disappointment. We ordered manchow soup which was superb. Then we ordered for neer dosa, prawns ghee roast, seer fish fry, chicken lollypop and chicken biryani. The manchow soup came on time and was very tasty. The rest of the dishes took for every to come, they told us we prepare the dishes once we place the order, we were ok with that expecting good tasty food. The food arrived after more than 30mins. Neer dosa was good, the prawns ghee roast was very less in quantity and the taste was very bland. Seer fish fry was the most horrible and the most expensive dish we ordered, they fried the fish in some old vegetable oil or palm oil and it was just stinking of that oil, no taste of fish or masala and the masala was separating from the fish, it was just disgusting. The chicken sukka was equally bad, this restaurant failed in a dish which even the most local of restaurants master in. This was definitely prepared by a person who dosent know cooking. The lollypop was average in taste. Chicken biryani was not biryani at all they just put some long rice along with 2 chicken pieces, as usual it was tasteless and all of us struggled to eat it. All 6 of our family members decided never to vist...
Read moreAfter eating here, based on reviews I saw, this place is overhyped. Ate Crab ghee roast. The meaty piece that was shown to me and the one that came to my plate were far different. There was very little meat in the dish, and in that too few pieces had a stale taste, black color and meat had a leathery feel. So, they served me half a small crab (other half was bad). These things happen. What is surprising is that the service staff and the proprietor of this place refused to acknowledge what I showed live on the plate. They said everything is ok and we are confused. The proprietor just walked out.
The pomfret tava fry was a bit raw as well and again the issue of size shown versus served came up.
I ordered neer dosa and the order was accepted. But a ten minutes later the waiter returned and said dosa got over. We were the only people in the restaurant. Then he explained that our neer dosa might have been sent to an online order.
Eating here is a pathetic experience. Maybe driven by fake reviews like usually in a typical tourist-y eatery, this place is not worth the hype. Best avoided, unless you know how to handle such people better. Because this restaurant has no value for a...
Read moreThis is one of the lesser known restaurants in and around Malpe in Udupi. Though not so popular than its counterparts like Thimappa, but I can vouch that this is one of the best restaurants in Malpe.
We were taken here by our auto driver. As this place is not so popular, there was negligible crowd on a Sunday afternoon. We reached here and we were escorted to an a/c seating room. The waiter helped us ordering the food . The menu consists of a variety of items like Indian & Chinese starters, main course, local delicacies, etc. we ordered chicken sukka, fish puli munchi, chicken kori, mutton biriyani prepared with soft lamb, ghee rice. The food items tasted very good . None of the items were bad. The heavily spiced dishes were subtle in taste which we liked .
This restaurant is a family restaurant which has a/c and non a/c seating area, a clean washroom and a handwash place. It also has a relatively small car parking area.
I didn’t find any negative point for this restaurant. You can comfortably have delicious local delicacies here in the hot Udupi weather. This place is a must visit at-least once , if you are in or around...
