New Coastal Grand — Restaurant in Karnataka

Tried them on my way back from Kerala for a dinner break. They have an open lawn along with huge in dining space, I was tired of the drive and heat from Kerala and wanted to experience the very minimal pleasantness of Mysore though I know I longed for better, as these last few weeks have been crazy for Bangalore or Mysore. Coming back to food, it's what you can expect from any of the roadside dhaba setting hotels in Bangalore/ Mysore region. Given this was supposed to be a coastal / sea food speciality restaurant tried the same, which was actually good. Neer dose was extremely thin and elasticy at its best, but tasty. What was not acceptable were some mocktails we ordered, (which I generally in my right mind would never do in such a place, but then the heat and desperation of the drive could not have kept me in the right state of mind. ) they were extremely sweet and all tasted the same .. guess someone had bought too many groceries from reliance smart.. which made the Rs 9 sugar offer kickin .... It surely did know an adrenaline rush for me and it was in a way both good and bad, as I was post that hitting the Mysore express way... So minus the mocktails ( I still feel someone was having that evil laugh mocking me on my choice). I believe the food...

Pls stay away from this good for nothing place. I would not even call it a restaurant.

We were the first customer for the day. We visited the restaurant around 12.30 pm. We ordered their chicken dum biryani. They took close to 30.mins to get the food. As we were the first customer for the lunch time, we thought they are taking time to get the food thinking as they are freshly cooking the biriyani.

When the food came after 30 mins, the food was just warm and never hot. The biriyani rice was half cooked. There were 2-3 pieces of chicken in the biriyani. However, the centre part of the chicken piece was super cold. They have reheated the previous (or months old) days unsold biriyani. When complained to the staff they were ready to compensate by giving some thing else. However, we never wanted to give another try to their old food.

We did the payment and told the staff to watch for our social media review. Please stay away from this place. The place looks nice and new from outside and that's the only positive comment. Food is the worst and it can be your last meal. Visit this place...

I was very disappointed with my experience at New Coastal Grand. Here's what went wrong:

Chicken Curry Issue: The chicken pieces in the chicken curry were smelling very bad 🤢. It seemed like the chicken wasn't fresh. This was a major letdown and a food safety concern.

Rotis were OK: The rotis served were okay, nothing special but passable.

Pathetic Service: The service was extremely poor. Despite waiting for over an hour and making multiple requests, the staff didn't respond or attend to us promptly. They finally brought the order only after we were exhausted from waiting.

Price vs. Quality/Quantity: The price charged was high considering the quality and quantity of food provided. Not worth the money at all.

I'm very disappointed and won't be visiting New Coastal Grand again. The experience was not worth the money spent, and I'd advise others to think twice before dining here.
