Had been here for lunch. There were not many people as it was a Monday afternoon. Felt as if the whole restaurant was booked for me. First of all, this place is a great escape from the traditional north Indian and south Indian cuisines. I had ordered hot and sour chicken soup, Pataya Chicken for starters, Origin Kiwi Nojito mocktail and Thai chicken red curry rice. The soup was not that great. I don't blame them. There are not many soup lovers in the region where i live so it's almost the same story in any restaurant around this place. Then arrived the super delicious Pataya Chicken. It was very tasty. I strongly recommend this dish. It was not very spice, it was a bit tangy, it was super soft almost melted in my mouth. Best thing i have had in the recent times. The unique thing about this place is it has this super cool Mocktail Bar. And the best part is this bar is its not just for show off. They actually serve authentic and aesthetic tasting mocktails. The Nojito mocktail i had ordered was both pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. Next arrived my Thai red curry chicken rice. It is a coastal dish. So you can easily taste the large amount of coconut in the curry. But, by now i was already full. So i had to ask them to pack the leftovers, which they did with no fuss. Ambience is super cool. The seatings are very comfortable. Only complaint is about the music, they play some bollywood himesh reshamiiah numbers, which was kind of a turn off for me. It would be great if they could play some jazz or classical piano or violin compilations. The service was extremely pleasant. The waiters were so much kind that i was about to tell them stop being so much kind and good to me :) I did not forget to tip them though. I really do hope they get a good personalised parking place, cos parking was an issue for me. Also, it wud be good if they can update their fb page with a digital menu. Very much recommended place for anyone who want an escape from the...
Read moreRecipes is one of Davangere's finest restaurants. It's located opposite to the famed JJM Medical College, and it's very hard to miss, if you are driving. Parking may be an issue. You'll have to park on the road.
The restaurant is bright as you enter it, the LED lights and the white walls and the soothing music will make you love the place instantly. There will be a projection of the live games, so don't worry about missing sports when you're out for dinner.
The menu offers a lot from Chinese, Indian and Thai cuisines. Their Chinese is good and I would recommend it.
Recently, Recipes has started serving alcohol too. All the popular beers are available, and I believe that's the case with the hard stuff too. They have cocktails and mocktails as well.
Customer service is good and the general service is fast. It usually gets crowded if you go late in the evening for dinner.
They also provide home delivery services. Having done that a few times, there have been times when the food has come in cold (Hence, the 4 star review).
Recipes is a very good place to go out for food with your family or friends. The food is great and so is the experience. As far as the money goes, some might argue that it's a tad bit overpriced, but if you enjoy good food, it's...
Read moreI rarely write negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared. The service at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. We waited far too long to be seated despite several empty tables, and not once did anyone acknowledge or apologize for the delay.
Once seated, things only got worse. The server was rude, barely made eye contact, and acted like we were a burden. Questions about the menu were met with eye rolls and curt responses. It felt like we were being rushed out, even though the place wasn’t busy.
Food aside (which was just average), the unprofessional attitude completely ruined the experience. There was no warmth, no courtesy, and certainly no reason to return. Customer service should be a basic expectation—sadly, this place doesn't...
