Visit to Davangere never ends without savoring the taste of Benne Dose. Late evening, was on a hunt for nearby Benne Dose hotels. Decided to go into this sub branch of Kottureshwara Benne Dose Hotel. This is a branch of Kottureshwara Benne Dose hotel present on Dental college Road. Initially tried out their classic Benne Dose. Butter being slithered on top of the Dose was a treat to my eyes. Cooking on Soudhe/Wood has always a hidden taste. Dose was ready and served with Aloogadde palya and white coconut chutney. Dose had a crisp texture on the outside and soft on the inside. With the aroma of butter, taking each bite was mouth watering alongside palya and the chutney. The taste of Dose slightly comes with a tinge of sweetness due to the ingredients in their batter. I got in some gatti chutney too as this chutney has a spice touch, spicier than the mildly watery Chutney. Next, moved onto their Open Dose, that comes with goodness of butter and their in-house Pudi sprinkled over the dose as it cooks on with melted butter. This also is served with Palya but with Gatti Chutney. This version of Dose is even crispier, the pudi is slightly spicy but suppressed by the dominant butter. I was surprised that this outlet did not have Benne Paddus. Both the Dose versions were good to taste but definitely would head to the Dental College Road branch to try...
