During our last visit to Sakaleshpura, most of the time we had breakfast and dinner here. I would rather say it is a saviour restaurant. Because we went to Sakaleshpura on Karnataka Bandh and we couldn't able to find any restaurant on the route. But when we checked-in to Ashritha Hotel, they suggested to go to this restaurant.
LOCATION: It's hard to miss out, located in the same premises where Hotel Ashritha. (on the highway which connects Hassan to Mangalore) Google Maps can help you to get there precisely.
AMBIANCE: It's standard, they have 25-30 tables for all sorts of crowd and it offers service. I don't know whether it's Sakaleshpura's atmosphere or good ventilation at this restaurant, it always feels cool in here. Hand wash area is quite tricky to find. Seating are comfortable. They have separate entrance for Hotel Ashritha's guests.
SERVICE: Its kind of satisfactory. On the Karnataka Bandh day they were kind enough to offer us breakfast and also suggested to take parcel of freshly cooked pulav for lunch which saved us from hunger during lunch time. Coming to the in-house service, despite of the factor it is always crowded they serve quickly. They don't mind repeating the menu again and again. They do suggest you their specialities and other stuffs.
FOOD: It can very well compete with legendary restaurants in Bengaluru. Their quality is too good. Through out our stay in Sakaleshpura, everyday we had breakfast here itself. We tried different dishes like Masal Dosa, Idli, Vada, Pongal, Veg Pulav, Chow-Chow Bath, Poori, Bisibele Bath and of course their speciality Malnad Akki Rotti. Every dish was too good and Akki Rotti was extraordinary. The strong ginger chutney supplied with Akki Rotti was impeccably great. Other than breakfast, we tried their North Indian delicacies for dinner. It was good and believe me for the standards of "tourist spot restaurants" it scores very high. Paneer they used in the main course was standard other than that Tandoori Roti & Naan were soft. And of course, they do serve ice creams ;)
EVERYTHING ELSE: During weekends it might get crowded during peak hours. Hygiene has been maintained well every where. There is a decent parking space available in front of the restaurant. Toilets were clean. Pricing is moderate and billing is transparent. Don't expect Air Conditioned dining area.
FINAL VERDICT: This is the most dependable restaurant in Sakaleshpura and can become best pit stop to refuel your tummy. Don't forget to try Akki...

I recently visited Surabhi's restaurant in Sakleshpura, and while the experience was decent, it didn't exceed my expectations. The food was average, and the service was friendly but slow. The ambiance was cozy, but the seating area could be improved.
The positives were the decent value for money and the basic features of the restaurant. However, the quality of food and service could be better. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, but the response time was slow.
Overall, I'd give Surabhi's restaurant 3 out of 5 stars. With some improvements in food quality and service, it could be a great dining experience.

Read moreThe food was tasty, especially the rice stuffed roti they served in meals. The utensils were not very clean. Service was not up to the mark, the waiters looked very occupied, so they couldn't offer their best. I ordered the special meals. I was a little surprised to learn that they will not re-serve any item, not even dal. What we ordered was costlier than the executive meals. So we thought that this is equivalent to the 'full meals' of Andhra menus. We should have checked this with the waiters, but it was difficult to get their time and attention. In Telugu speaking areas, though the rice is limited, some of the other items will be served again if needed. Anyway, it's an average...
