The Irish House, Belagavi — Restaurant in Karnataka

We—three friends from Goa—visited The Irish House, Belagavi on the evening of 10th May at 7:30pm, completely unaware that we were about to have one of our most disappointing experiences. We ordered a cocktail that was served as nothing more than 60ml of whisky with an ice cube, two coffee beans, and a cinnamon stick. Being familiar with proper cocktails, we politely asked the person who served it (initially assumed to be the bartender) for clarification as we had inquired about the drink before placing the order, he showed us a photo—featured on the page before the cocktail list—depicting a cocktail with juices and garnishes, which led us to believe that’s what we would be served. When he couldn’t respond appropriately, we requested to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager’s response was vague, dismissive, and made no sense. When we questioned how this drink was any different from simply ordering whisky on the rocks, he failed to provide a logical explanation and instead kept justifying the presentation in an unconvincing manner. What made matters worse was the service charge of 10% added to the bill, despite the subpar service and completely avoidable misunderstanding. It felt like a complete disregard for customer satisfaction or accountability. The individuals posing as bartenders and the other guy so called manager seemed to have knowledge no better than someone completely unrelated to the hospitality industry. Their understanding of bar service and cocktails was shockingly poor—equivalent to someone with no background in the field at all. if anyone still plans to visit this place, a word of advice: before ordering, ask the so-called bartender how exactly the drink will be prepared their way, rather than assuming it will match the standard you'd expect elsewhere. A fresh breath of air in terms of emerging lounge culture in Northern part of Karnataka. The ambience is excellent with the traditional Irish house set up and a very nice seating arrangement inside the lounge with sufficient space to move. The bathrooms are maintained very well and clean. Gives you the premium experience. The parking lot is quite spacious with sufficient space to cater to the number of guests visiting the Irish house. The staff is very courteous and hospitable and very well manage to provide their guests with an experience to remember. Last but not the least is their well crafted menu for food and drinks, some the cocktails are nothing short of mind blowing (do try the inverted passion if you are a vodka connoisseur and LIIT, manages to pack in its usual punch) considering all these points , I highly recommend this place if you're traveling on the PB Highway or exclusively looking for a place to chill on the outskirts.
