My recent visit to Waterfront in Kudle Beach was a complete letdown. As tourists, we were unfortunately subjected to extremely bad and rude treatment by the management, they did not speak politely, rather shouted at us. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a tourist destination.
We felt helpless and unable to defend ourselves in this situation. We're sharing this review to warn other tourists and prevent them from having a similar experience.
PLEASE AVOID GOING HERE, THERE ARE BETTER BEACH RESTAURANTS IN THE SAME BEACH!
Adding the entire incident: I must start by admitting that I was trespassing unknowingly. As in some regions of Gokarna, Google Maps does not work reliably, we were advised by a local to take the route through WaterFront restaurant to access Kudle Beach. Unfortunately, there are no signs or posters indicating that this path is not permitted for tourists.
While passing through WaterFront, we decided to dine there. However, a waiter rudely shouted at me, which was quite shocking, especially considering that I am a woman and would expect basic manners. Had they politely informed me that we were not allowed to pass through, I would have understood and complied with their instructions without hesitation.
The manager joined the waiter and also looked at me with extreme anger. This behavior made me feel unsafe as a woman. If you are reading this, I urge you to review how your staff interacts with customers and ensure that such incidents...
Read moreVisited here with family for lunch while we were looking for another beach side restaurant and couldn't find it. Its located on the beachside and has a open deck area to enjoy the sea view. However, the location and the deck area are about the only good things about this restaurant. The food we ordered was not that great, the chicken tikka had no taste and they know that because they splash some chat masala on it! Who puts chat masala on chicken tikka (obviously those, who cannot get the masala for the tikka right!). The place didn't seem clean or hygienic as there were cats littering around. But the worst part was the pathetic service by the restaurant staff. There are a couple of north eastern people who are supposed to cater to the deck area, but they will never be around. Even if you keep gazing the inner part of the restaurant from the deck to try and summon somebody and, by some luck, manage to make eye contact, they will simply ignore you and go about their business, which is doing nothing. You will also never see them smile, ever. Overall, very difficult to get your order or get tasty food there. You can definitely give it a pass if you can find some other beach side...
Read moreWe went here on a Saturday night in March with my 1 year old daughter entering through Arthigamya resort and spa. The property doesnt not all9w entry into the beach if you are not a resort guest or sitring in the restaurant ( which is pretty justified) but on reaching there I realised that the music is too loud along with the lights. So had to move out to a more suitable place for her. So definitely not recommended for family with small kids, as they will ask you to take your car and travel.another 1.5 to 2 kms for the next restaurant irrespective of the fact that it is there ambience which is not conducive.
So after all this, I went back alone to the restaurant so that we are able to take pur car and go without any conflict.. loved the chicken fried rice they served, the momo could be better though. The mojito though... amazing!!
A recommendation to the management, is thay they could make a small area away from the speakers for those who dont want...
