One horrible place to have food and very very bad experience. Lesson learnt , Donât go by celebrity visits, blogs and vlogs Reasons:
ordered meals ( not mini , it was chapathi meals, they asked poori or chapathi, we asked for chapathi), they served rock solid chapathi and super cold rice. When we asked about it, no apology from them. They said thatâs the rice we have , order anything else, we went at 1:45pm which is peak lunch time and rice is super cold . I donât eat cold rice at home , y would I eat cold rice in a restaurant by paying such a huge price. I wish I had a thermometer to measure the temperature of the rice, it was as cold as rice kept outside for the whole night. The owner calls it hot! Donât know y? How can you serve food like that to a customer? I was finding pieces in between in the chapathi to feed my son, I have not come to any temple to eat free food , when we pay money in any place , anybody and everybody will expect service and products / items for that price unless itâs some charity.
in the same plate there were only 4 cups : rasam, jamoon, salad (they called it palya, when we asked them where is palya, they pointed to the salad ,it was raw veggies ) , no where in world people will mix salad with rice) and last cup was curd. No sambar, no papad! Note: it was not mini meals, they said â no mini meals todayâ. When I asked where is sambar, that lady is slowly counting the cups in our plates by touching and calling out its names. Then she realized something is missing
no hospitality whatâs so ever. 0% courtesy. The person whoever runs has no courtesy to talk nicely, nobody even speaks properly with the customers. âCustomer is not the kingâ in this place.
when we asked âwhat do you have todayâ,she throws menu and says see in the menu. Asked for fried rice , â not thereâ, asked for jeera rice , â not thereâ. Then for what joy we have to go through the menu.
first of all we had to call them multiple times to book the place, he said call again after crossing some town and confirm. We thought this is a protocol they follow so that they can cook fresh hot meal !! That was...
We visited this place at about 1255 for lunch. Itâs unique and peaceful with the atmosphere of a farmhouse. Coming to the food, Maddur Vade wasnât available although it was listed under âall day bitesâ?. We started off by ordering 2 plates of Kerala Parotta and after a short while we were informed that it wasnât available either. So, we finally ordered a plate of Chapati Kurma, Special Bajji and a portion of Masala Rice. Kurma and Chutney severed with Chapatis were amazing however we were disappointed by the hard and rubbery Chapatis. There are multiple complaints about the Chapatis in the other reviews and I really hope itâs looked into. The Special Bajji lacked salt and felt very generic. We had to add salt to it ourselves to try and finish it off somehow. I guess fusion food just doesn't suit us?! We should have ordered the Mirchi Bajji instead. Finally, the Masala Rice Bhath was great but was very oily. We expected it to be "Gowdru style/Home style" breakfast Rice Bhath, less oily but it wasn't. Very tasty though. The service was fairly quick however the staff should spend more time explaining the specifics of the meals(thali) which didn't happen. They seemed in a hurry always and would hardly wait at the tables to answer queries which is particularly important for first time visitors. Overall, a decent experience and we would like to visit again and try their meals(thali). We drove all the way from Bangalore specifically to have lunch here. Hope to have a better...
Read moreRestaurant gets closed at 10am in morning. Sick. False info provided in Google map and on Sign board that restaurant remains open "from 8am-3pm" . Instead of improving service.. You guys giveing silly reason of Out of stock at 10am on a Sunday morning.. Unimaginable arrogance. Assumes itself as Rolex of Restaurant business. Learn from restaurant like Rameshwaram cafe... Etc whose revenue is 100x than you and still serving customer tirelessly 24x7 like worshipping God.
Update :- Response to Owner:- My Anger is not because I missed the breakfast.. My anger is for your arrogant response and how casual you are about peoples time. Imagine you see a restaurant which shows open till 3pm and decide to try out.. You detour 6+6km=12 only to find out the restaurant closed 10am on a Sunday morning..and you are not even allowed to enter inside.. You express your unhappiness and instead of apology you get a reply from owner that. "We don't prepare in batches we don't do this and we don't do that.. Our foot fall is so high we go out of stock before time." Qstn - what was the footfall that day? Can you please share details. Was it 3-4 times than you expected within 2hr? I am sure its not.. And that's why I updated my review and compared you with Rameshwaram cafe. The great peoples whose time and effort you taking for granted will take no time to punish you. I will never recommend your restaurant to any of my friends or riding group I am part of. Until you apologise for your arrogance and...
