This is probably the best vegetarian hotel in Aluva. They have many decades of tradition to boast of.
Have been visiting this hotel since more than 20 years, and the taste is still awesome. My personal favourite is Masaladosa and Vada. Their sambar and chutney are also awesome.
You get Idly, Dosa, Masaladosa, Ghee roast, Chappathi, Vada, Aloo Bonda, Samosa, and other items. The coffee and tea are also very tasty.
This hotel is a must visit for me, whenever I visit my hometown for a few days.
This hotel is difficult to spot from the main road and that is the only drawback. A person, who is new to Aluva, will need someones reference to find this hotel, as there are other hotels very near to the entrance to this hotel.
This hotel is veg. foodies' heaven.
One highlight is that, they started accepting digital payment, even before the demonetization came into place in 2016 Nov.
The place is well connected to road network. The railway station and KSRTC bus stand are just 1.5kms away from the hotel. Private bus stand is just 3 minutes walk...
Read moreDeceptively good, would be the simplest explanation for this restaurant. They are located a bit inside the junction, with access via 2 routes. Park your vehicle in the nearby pay and park and go to the restaurant. The main dishes I saw people ordering were the Masala dosa and dosa, along with vada. Since there's already raving reviews regarding the Masala dosa, I thought I would go for the adventurous journey of the taste buds with an Oothappam and a Batoora. And it was definitely not disappointing, with a well made oothappam and a large enough Batoora with curry. The coffee was a bit let down, but good enough for a bru coffee, as I prefer Filter coffee or decoction coffee. The tea was up to the mark and the service was also OK with a bit elderly person serving us, and we definitely don't expect a whole meet and greet in such a busy restaurant. He explained to us about the wait time and the recommended foods too, so not a bad service too, making the lack of smile excusable. All in all a...
Read moreDisappointing Experience I recently had the misfortune of trying this dish, and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The Ghee Roast tasted eerily similar to raw batter, which was a major letdown. The Appam and Kadala were also undercooked, leaving much to be desired.
Ghee Roast: Tasted like raw batter, lacking the rich flavor and texture I expect from a well-cooked dish. Appam: Undercooked, failing to deliver the crispy exterior and fluffy interior that Appam is known for. Kadala: Not cooked to perfection, resulting in an unappetizing texture.
Overall Experience Disappointing experience. The dishes were not cooked to the standards I expect. Perhaps with some improvements in cooking techniques and attention to detail, this dish could reach its...
