Baby Chettans SeaFood Restaurant KRB — Restaurant in Kerala

This is by no means luxurious but instead a local hidden marvel. 'Baby', a former fishing boat captain, is the owner of this restaurant and makes sure all meals are ship shape for the pallets of landlubbers. Fish/Seafood caught daily and served up in moderate portions. Fish curry was my favourite, although I must say that the briyani was yummy too.

Price for a good meal for two with drinks and ice cream was still under Rs1000 (£10) We went to the more up-market Liliput and Waves paying tree times that price and was disappointed in both the service and quality of food.

If you are looking for luxury, then perhaps skip 'Baby Chettans'. However, if you like an experience and good tasting food served by the owner, then I recommend this place 100%.

Koonthal fry was great. Fish curry and crab roast were okay. Crab roast was too spicy. Main issue was the person who took our order. He was very inexperienced and did not even note the order. We ordered fish pollichathu and he instead got fish curry. When we went rice was not there as it was around 3 pm and we had ordered chappati. Fish curry got wasted due to this. Amazing ambience and cool breeze from the sea is a major attraction! The food variety is good but do not expect a super fresh sea food items.
