Bungalow 47 — Restaurant in Kerala

On Saturday evening we 6 people had plan to go to a nice restaurant. So we made the trip all the way from Kasaragod to Kanhangad just to have a nice meal. It was our mistake that we didn't check any reviews online. Once we arrived there, we saw enough space for sitting. We sat in a comfortable place. Then one of the staff came and said, they can't serve to that area. Okay we thought. When we told them to arrange a seat for us, they almost took 30 mins to arrange. It seemed like there were not enough staff to control the customers need. Also we observed few of them were frustrated like handling the chair/table in an angry manner. Anyhow we sat to give our orders. The table were not clean, we made them to clean. And again it took almost 20mins to take our order. The wooden chairs were not so comfortable to sit for long period of time. They need to consider placing cushioned seats. Okay, so we ordered creamy chicken soup and chicken hot and sour soups. It came relatively quickly, but to our surprise the creamy soup had a smokey smell. Told them and they replaced it. But replaced item did not had the thickness of first provided one, although it didn't smell smoked. Then we ordered our starters. 3 items. We observed the quantity was very less for the price also it was not hot and did not taste so good. When we asked and about why it's not hot, their answer was they have to bring it from outside outlet. Don't know why it turned so cold so quickly. By the way they didn't had most of the items specified in the Menu. They said it's all empty and showed only few items. After finishing the starter we ordered the main course. Again it took more than 30 mins to arrive. Finally we finished the meal and ordered shaik. That also took 20 plus mins to arrive. The wash area was not so clean. I will give zero rating....... Yesterday (on 15th October 2022 Saturday) night I had been to "Bungalow 47" and i witnessed extremely bad behavior from their staff. When I left from the hotel and after 15 minutes on the way I realized that I lost my phone somewhere and when I came back to the hotel and asked the staff twice, their response was like, they don't know and they haven't seen it at all.

I had to return from there and after a while when i checked my phone's location using findMobile application, I got to know that my phone was still at the same hotel itself and mobile vibrated and rang too while locating. But this time When I went to that hotel ,as soon as I reached, the staff came out and returned the phone because they knew that there wasn't anything they could do to turn off that findMobile notifications.

This was pure unethical and extremely bad behavior of the staff which is unforgivable. They were trying to steal the phone and keep it with themselves but unfortunately their idea got spoiled, thanks to findMobile app.

Nice ambience amd hospitality.We recently had dinner at Bungalow 47 in Kanhangad with our family and our friends’ family, and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant dining experiences we’ve had in a while. The restaurant has a lovely traditional Kerala-style ambience — spacious, well-lit, and peaceful — making it perfect for families.

We ordered chicken alfaham, tandoor roti, and butter naan, and every dish was delicious. The alfaham was tender, smoky, and perfectly marinated, while the tandoor rotis and butter naans were soft, fresh, and served piping hot. The flavors were authentic, and the portions generous enough for everyone to enjoy.

What really impressed us was the hospitality. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely caring — they even provided a cradle for our baby to sleep comfortably while we dined. That thoughtful gesture made the experience extra special for us.
