If you’re craving authentic South Indian food, this place definitely knows how to surprise you — just maybe not in the way you’d hope.
First things first: Do not, under any circumstance, try ordering North Indian food here. Not because it’s not available — in fact, the ever-smiling bearers will happily push it on you, probably because the bill value goes up — but because it’s a South Indian restaurant, remember? How dare you even think otherwise.
Now, coming to the South Indian fare (their supposed forte): Prepare your taste buds for a journey of mediocrity. The flavors? Let’s just say they took a vacation. And the portions? Generous enough to leave you wondering if you’re on a diet you didn’t sign up for.
Ah, but the real highlight — the Batoora incident. I innocently questioned why I was served what looked suspiciously like a poori (but smaller, if that’s even possible), only to be told, with full confidence, that this delicate wafer was indeed batoora. Two pieces, mind you. Each the size of half a papad. Michelin-star generosity!
As for the much-hyped “Brahmin Cuisine” branding — let’s be honest, it seems the only thing Brahmin about it is the address being somewhere vaguely near Kalpathy. Authenticity? That must’ve gotten lost on the way from the kitchen.
If you’re really looking for genuine, satisfying South Indian Brahmin cuisine in Palakkad, you’d do well to explore other options. This one is more about the buzz...

Me with my family, happened to visit this restaurant this morning. It was an easy spot and had pretty good parking. Chose this as it was continuously raining this morning and was tough to spot restaurants in the morning
But unfortunately chose the wrong place
Seating space within the restaurant is too low with respect to the parking space People need to wait next to tables as there is no staff available to coordinate the seating.
Next bit, Service is just pathetic. Just 2-3 waiters managing the show and at their convenience. You need to call them out repeatedly and still they ignore and come to You when they prefer to. The owner / accountant too seem to be helpless and equally least bothered about the hardships customers are going through. Staff seems to have full control here
On the food: ordered a plate of Poori, and all I got was 2 small pooris which wasn't sufficient at all. Tasty was good though, family members ordered Dosas and they were happy with the dish too. Ordered Pongal too which was cold, blunt and a waste of money. Managed to finish it with a combi of chutney+ sambar. Tea, again better not mentioned
Restrooms were outside and it was a little tough to visit with kids as we had to run in Rains.
All in all, only visit if you absolutely have no...
Read moreI have mixed reviews...
Pros Good location Restaurant/Rooms /Hall for function available under one roof.. Rooms are pretty decent,no doubts and reasonable rates That's all for a thumps up..
Cons
Had taken the hall for a function.. It's no doubt, air-conditioned hall but without a green room/washroom attached in the hall .
Poor coordinator for the hall
The charges for the hall(excluding the electricity)- I was told ''X" during booking And when final Bill came it was "Xx" I had to remind the concerned about this and he had no reply ,but a sorry and changed it to 'X'...so that's a doubtful one..
The food in restaurant is not at all bad,but the food arranged for the function in the hall, was pathetic and was not at all matching the Palakkad/kalpathy (veg) traditional taste...When questioned ,after paying the full amount..again a blank look and no satisfactory answer..
So my humble review
Rooms are gud-go for it Hall is average- but the location, attatched with rooms is comfortable Food is pathetic - we all hated it,cursed ourselves for paying so much and eating such yuck ... And pls pls confirm & reconfirm the rates of hall and then book it...there are lot other gud choices...
