📍 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
As a Keralite who has grown up with the unmistakable charm of Indian Coffee House (ICH), visiting the Muringur branch feels like stepping into a familiar story — one that hasn’t changed much over the years, for better or worse.
🍛 Food & Taste
The food here is exactly what you’d expect from any Indian Coffee House across Kerala — classic, comforting, and consistently tasty. Whether it’s the Masala Dosa, Veg Cutlet (Beetroot one), or the signature coffee, everything carries that nostalgic flavor we’ve come to love. No surprises, no experiments — just the good old ICH menu with all the bells and whistles.
🧼 Cleanliness & Hygiene
This is where things get a bit tricky. The tables are often not cleaned promptly, and the overall hygiene of the place leaves much to be desired. If you’re someone who prioritizes spotless surroundings, this might be a letdown. That said, there is a separate family room, which offers a bit more privacy — though don’t expect a major upgrade in cleanliness.
🕰️ Service
Service is slow, and the waiters take their time to attend to you. This has been consistent across multiple visits, and unfortunately, not much has changed. Patience is key here — and perhaps a gentle reminder or two to get your order moving.
🚗 Location & Parking
One of the biggest + is its proximity to the highway, making it a convenient stop for travelers. There’s ample parking space for both cars and bikes, which is a rare and welcome feature for a roadside eatery.
🗣️ For Keralites
If you’re from Kerala, you already know what Indian Coffee House stands for — it’s not just about food, it’s about nostalgia, simplicity, and a certain cultural rhythm. This branch stays true to that legacy, warts and all.
🌍 For Non-Keralites
If you’re not from Kerala, this place might seem underwhelming unless you understand the emotional and cultural connection locals have with ICH. It’s not a gourmet experience — it’s a slice of Kerala’s everyday life. If you’re curious to explore local flavors and traditions, it’s worth a stop. Just don’t expect luxury or modern café vibes.
✅ Verdict A reliable pit stop for authentic Kerala-style food with nostalgic vibes. Great taste, slow service, and basic hygiene — but still a place that holds its own charm for those who know what Indian Coffee House...
Read moreWorst Indian Coffee house experience I have ever had in my life. The staffs are just unbelievably rude and the service is lethargic and time consuming.
I've been a regular Indian Coffee house customer all my life and I have also been a regular at the ICH in Vijay Nagar, Indore. ICH Vijay Nagar used to remind me of the fond memories of the food and friendly staff over there. However, the ICH Muringur has just destroyed all those fond memories associated with the brand. My family and I took a pitstop here after a 9 hour long drive from Bangalore. We occupied a table for 4 people. The dishes and leftovers from the previous customers were left in the table itself even after 10-15 minutes since the time they left. We waited for almost half an hour to get the table cleaned and requested the staff atleast 4 times to clean the table or allocate a different table. The table was not cleaned and the staff even spoke rudely to my family and myself. We waited for the cashier, assuming he is the in-charge to allocate a table for us. The manager was like - I don't know. Since we were tired and was really hungry we decided to find a different place and left ICH Muringur. This was such a disappointing experience from the ICH...
