Clay House — Hotel in Kerala

Bad Experience. My server doesn't understand the food and communication was an issue. In the beginning he came and ask if i need 2 peg whisky and 1 beer , he take the order and after 5 minutes he retured to my seat and telling that the ordered whisky is not available here and ask me to order another one, it's take a waiting period of almost 5 minutes to confirm the availability of that drink. Then I ordered a plate of fish finger, at the time of order I asked to him how much pieces is there with 1 plate and how much is the rate? He answered that 8 pieces is in 1 plate and 350 rs is the rate, I agreed and place the order, after 15 minutes he comes with the place and it have only 7 pieces and and 1 piece have some issues like not fully in size or making issues , I was addressed that issue and he takes that piece and asked me sorry and wish to says that will replace that piece of fish finger within 10 minutes , after that I was waited there for a very large time it takes almost 1 hour but didn't received any response from this people's, really very very bad experience with here in my entire bar life. wouldn't go there again. Ambience and location is great but it is not worth spending that kind of money and get a bad experience. There are many places in chalakudy where you can have a very tasty meal , better service and good experience.

Clay house has been an old favourite.It was the stopover and unwinding spot of choice for many a journeys in the last 10 years.It was the first time staying in the property...and I tell you , I felt sad.The rooms are clean and well kept, bathrooms equally tidy.The place was so calm,eerily calm. There were no other guests other than us.I remember a busy and bustling motel with eager to please staff ... Not any more. The rooms as I said earlier is pretty good, sizeable beds, effective air conditioning and 24 hour running hot water.The problem is the door lock, you get a rotary lock inside which can be easily opened from outside with a spare key.No Tower bolt or a latch , not even a chain lock.We used a Bible and a couple of books to keep the door secure (so stupid...). And the toilet windows are a few removable pieces of glass , the toilet door cannot be locked from outside . Hope the management read this and did something about it.Other than these minor/major concerns the property is highly recommended.The cheerful senior lady at the reception...

Disappointing Experience - Avoid This Place

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Clay House was truly awful. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The staff seemed uninterested and unorganized. We waited nearly 30 minutes just to place an order, despite the place not being overly crowded.

When our drinks finally arrived, they were wrong, and the server didn’t seem to care when we pointed it out. The food came out cold and lacked any flavor—definitely not worth the price they charge. On top of that, trying to get someone to refill our drinks or even bring the bill took forever. It was like they forgot we existed.

Overall, the poor service overshadowed everything. If you're looking for a place with good food, attentive staff, and a decent atmosphere, I highly suggest you go somewhere else. This place is a waste of...
