One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in my life was at a place I visited with my family about a week ago. Right from the start, it was clear that this restaurant was not up to par. They didn't even provide a menu card, leaving us clueless about the prices of the items they offered. Despite this, we decided to order a variety of dishes including chicken biryani, chapati, chicken fried rice, and mushroom masala. Regrettably, the only dish that was somewhat decent was the fried rice. Everything else was severely lacking in flavor, making the overall dining experience quite disappointing. What added to the frustration was the exorbitant pricing they demanded for their lackluster food, which was twice as much as what you'd find in cities like Kochi and Trivandrum. To make matters worse, just ten minutes after leaving the restaurant, both my wife and I started experiencing irritation and stomach pain. It became apparent that the mushroom masala they had served us was likely spoiled. Fortunately, our children didn't eat the mushroom masala, so they were spared from any issues. Furthermore, the restaurant didn't provide printed bills; instead, they calculated the charges individually for each customer. While settling the bill, I witnessed another customer complaining to the manager about the quality of the food and the way it was served. Shockingly, the manager seemed dismissive and uninterested, insisting that their method of serving was acceptable. In light of this experience, I strongly advise against patronizing this restaurant, even if you feel like you have no other options available. It's simply not worth the disappointment, discomfort, and dissatisfaction that come with...
Read moreThe food is really bad. I dont know why they would name themselves as kannur kitchen if the taste is not even close to what malabar food tastes like.
Yesterday, a group of 80 students from our college had food from here and these were our problems: 1)arabic alfaham was what we ordered and what they gave us was flavourless "ŕ´ŕ´°ŕ´żŕ´ŕľŕ´" chicken. Absolutely no taste. Plain burnt chicken. Everyone knows what an alfaham tastes like , so dont even come at us saying that this is how it tastes in malabar 2)the curry we ordered was malai chicken curry whcih was the worst of all. To your kind attention, malai means butter and there was not even a speck of butter in this. It was once again flavourless. 3)the attitude of the servers when we told them aboit the malai chicken curry was "this is how it tastes in malabar" and "if you wanted it changed you should've told earlier and not after tasting it". What does that even mean? We had complained about this to the cashier and got a refund for the chicken curry but I just had to add this for a whole review. Alfaham is a...
Read moreWe stopped at Kannur Kitchen around 4:30 in the evening, hoping to have some tea and snacks while on the way to Munnar. On entering, we were told they only had tea (no snacks, only main course items) â fair enough, so we ordered just tea.
But what followed was extremely disappointing. We waited for more than 30 minutes, and in that entire time no one bothered to update us, explain the delay, or even check in. The place felt deserted, with hardly anyone around, and after half an hour of waiting without any response, we simply walked out.
I canât comment on the food since we didnât get to try it, but with this kind of careless and indifferent attitude, it really doesnât matter how good the food might be. Hospitality and basic customer service are equally important, and unfortunately, Kannur Kitchen failed badly...
