The assortment of bread-based items at the establishment truly stood out, presenting a delightful medley of flavors and textures that left a lasting impression. The meticulous preparation and artisanal touch evident in these bread offerings underscored a commitment to culinary excellence. However, as one ventured into the realm of curry items, a slightly contrasting experience emerged. These dishes, while undoubtedly tasty, seemed to lean more towards the fast-food spectrum in terms of their preparation process. The meats, thoughtfully cooked in advance, were conveniently stored and paired with swiftly concocted gravies upon order placement. This efficiency in serving could potentially compromise the perception of a fully authentic and freshly prepared dining experience. One aspect that might raise eyebrows is the pricing. It appears that the cost of partaking in this culinary journey leans towards the higher end. While this could be attributed to factors such as quality ingredients, intricate recipes, and the overall ambiance, it might still be a point of consideration for some patrons. Another element that played a significant role in shaping the overall experience was the linguistic barrier. With the staff primarily communicating in a language other than the native Malayalam, conveying preferences, inquiries, or even appreciations became a challenging endeavor. This scenario was particularly noticeable when attempting to communicate in Hindi, leading to potential misinterpretations and an additional layer of complexity in the dining experience. In essence, the venue's strength lies in its mastery of bread-based creations that tantalize the palate with their diverse flavors. On the other hand, the approach to curry items might benefit from a more balanced consideration between efficiency and preserving the essence of freshly prepared meals. While the price point may deter some, it could be justified by the dedication to quality. Addressing the language barrier through improved communication channels could undoubtedly enhance the overall dining journey, making it more accessible and enjoyable for...
Read moreI have been to this place atleast 4 times. The last time was on the day of Onam, for dinner service. Being a public holiday it was packed to the brim and we waited a good 30 minutes to get a table.
I always get the grilled chicken (Al Fahmi) as that is the dish that put this place on my palate for me. The bones always came out clean and the meat was so juicy and tender it felt like a cloud but also had all the flavour and gameness and chicken should have. However, this last visit (on Onam) maybe due to the pressure on the staff, made me rethink my choices. The meat was so hard that I couldn't do much of anything to it but embarrass my guests and other by pulling onto it like a savage (cutlery didn't help). The seekh lamb kebab and the butter chicken were all moderately good, dishes which once were outstandingly good. The ambience of course was pleasant, lot of lights and simple yet beautiful architecture and a feeling of luxe. However the division between Indian, Asian and Arabic cuisine into three sections is really detrimental to guest's mental health as I was really mad when one of the bearers was quick to point out that if we're only ordering Arabic we should be seated in a separate section called Sultan's Table and almost did reseat us into a hot and humid outdoor seating area with a few fans for ventilation. My comment that I have been dining in the closed area with only Arabic food many times before was not well received as he did not show an inkling of customer service or guest courtesy and scoffed at me. (maybe this is due to the rush but there's always time for pleasant words) In conclusion, The looks is the best thing about this place. The food is inconsistent, sometimes good and sometimes not so much. Guest services could take a...
Read moreVery spacious and luxurious restaurant located opposite to Daya hospital in Thrissur. Many families can be seated at a time. When we entered the restaurant, they were very much welcoming and helped us to sit in a nice place. They gave us two menu for selection of food from almost all the cusine from the globe...😜 Just kidding but they do have some variety of food to choose from.
Another thing I have noticed is that, they have separated many counters and seperate seating areas for all both AC and non AC areas for tea/coffee, juice/shakes and tasty pastries....
Ok now coming back to the restaurant, I must say that, I felt service was good but not up to the mark. Like many were very professionally dealing with the customers but many weren't, as the one who attended our table, I mean the waiter didn't have any type of professionalism at all. Why we need to check for that, then I may need to tell because I pay a huge for the food and overall service and luxury in that restaurant. It is not cheap at all. Despite that all went well and we were attended very well and food was served without much delay.
Now with the food taste, quality and quantity was not that great. Taste was just about average and same with the quantity too, kindly note that it's always personal preferences. I should say North Indian dishes were way better than South India dishes. Not sure about the Chinese dishes though. There are nothing much that differentiates this restaurant with others with regards of taste, quality and quantity.
Parking was not at all an issue. They have provided a huge parking area, so no worries. Summing it up with my experience, I recommend all for trying this place at least once because it is a nice place to spend some quality time with your...
