Sora is an example of the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover " for all the wrong reasons.
Let me talk about the positives first: They have good ambience, the bathrooms are neat and it's an Instagram worthy place. But that's all they have to offer.
My family visited after 8:00 PM andwas not used to ordering through the QR code so we asked them whether they had peri-peri chicken or alfam( Biggest mistake on our part on not using the QR code). They recommened the alfam since they only had a half peri- peri left which was not enough for us. We ordered A full chicken alfam and chicken fried rice.
Our food looked good but there is a saying " Appearances can be deceiving". The fried rice was rather tasty and fresh. However the biggest disappointment was the alfam. The seasoning/ marinade they used was ok. But my main problem was that the alfam was definitely not fresh . It was extremely dry and fibrous and the meat tasted exactly like reheated chicken. Either they froze the chicken for too long in a deep freezer before marinating it or they served us reheated food . My doubts were further confirmed when I visited the bathroom multiple times the next morning and my family decided to cancel some sightseeing plans like elephant ride and view point visit since we all were feeling unwell.
Now coming to the service, the server took his sweet time before appearing near our table but he was fast in serving the food. We asked the waiter to bring us onions to better down the food since we didn't want to waste food . And he did bring it within 5 mins, so I would say customer service is good.
During the time they took to serve food, I checked their QR code to see their menu and realised that grill items like peri-peri and alfam were not on that day's available menu.
I just wish the restaurant would have been honest and said they didn't have alfam when we asked them about it instead of serving us old reheated food.
PS: The two stars are only for the good ambience, the neatness and the above average service. A establishment serving not fresh food deserves negative...
Read moreLooking for cozy and funky place in Thekkady, you are looking at the right one. Feels a little overhyped but then probably because of being just one of its kind in the vicinity. The menu is biased towards non veg items but I was happy with vegetarian spread too though the options were less. In fact the grill section is all about non veg. I was disappointed as their tag line is "Grill and Gossip" and vegetarians have to manage with just gossip. That's unfair considering easy availability of Paneer/Tofu and if creative, soya too. We tried fries, sandwich, pizza, cake slices and a few mojitos. Fries were most value for money considering freshness, crispiness and taste at given price. They mastered an art frying potato fingers. Pizza had only one size option i.e. large and it is. Taste was good but I felt something off with the cheese which was in abundance on it. Upon enquiring they told they no longer blend cheese and it only mozzarella but we had a different opinion. Sandwich was simply toasted and grilled but tasted yummy. Banana cake which looked like a chocolate and mango cheese cake were beyond my imagination but very tasty. Mojitos were utter nonsense. I would rather call it...

This time I ordered the exact same food items as last time (except Chicken Biriyani which for over) to check if they made a mistake last time. But they didn’t! Man, the margherita pizza was so good, the chicken burger was very well made and the mojitos (ordered green apple, butterscotch and blueberry) was awesome! They absolutely made up from last time. Guess everyone deserves a second chance… at least SORA did and they scored a 10/10 in my books. Keep it up! Must visit for sure!

Visit 1: Came here for some lunch. Ambience is good and food service was quick. Although the food was ok, absolutely not worth the price - Especially the margeritta pizza and crispy chicken burger. The pizza was half well-cooked the rest half was over cooked. The chicken burger patty was close to burnt. Ordered chicken biriyani and litchi mojito as well - The chicken in the biriyani was over cooked and rubbery to chew although rice was good. Lurch mojito was basically lemon juice with a press of the litchi syrup, nothing special. Overall, with the experience I had, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless...
