Celebrating my daughter’s second birthday at Elephant Junction was an experience beyond anything we could have imagined. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed not just as visitors, but as part of a family — a family that deeply loves and respects their elephants.
The entire team here radiates warmth, knowledge, and genuine care. They don’t just “show” you elephants; they introduce you to them like friends. Every interaction felt safe, well-guided, and respectful toward the animals.
A special mention to "Bins ettan", who greeted us with a smile and took the time to explain each package in detail so we could choose exactly what suited us. He also turned into our unofficial photographer for the day, capturing stunning shots of our moments — from cake cutting to water splashes — that we will cherish forever. He made sure every single activity was completed without rushing us, and at the end, treated us to tea, coffee, and snacks (part of the package) which was the perfect way to wind down after such an eventful day.
Our day started with the most unique birthday celebration — my little girl cut her cake right in front of the elephants, who seemed just as curious and delighted as we were! Then came the highlight reel of unforgettable moments:
Elephant Ride: Gently swaying on the back of a calm, majestic elephant through lush greenery was both thrilling and peaceful.
Elephant Bathing: A joy like no other! Scrubbing these gentle giants in the river felt surreal.
Feeding Time: Watching my daughter feed bananas to an elephant’s trunk — pure magic.
Water Splashing Fun: Sitting on an elephant’s back while it sprayed us with trunkfuls of water was the kind of laughter-filled moment you wish you could bottle forever.
Every elephant we met was healthy, well-cared for, and clearly loved. The trainers’ patience in explaining their habits, personalities, and the importance of ethical treatment was heartwarming. You can see they are passionate about creating not just a tourist attraction, but a sanctuary of connection and respect between humans and elephants.
We left with soaked clothes, tired smiles, and hearts overflowing with gratitude. Elephant Junction didn’t just give us a “birthday venue” — it gave us a chapter in our family’s story that we’ll treasure forever.
If you want more than just an “elephant ride,” if you want to feel the heartbeat of these incredible creatures and the people who care for them, this is the place to go.

Visiting Elephant Junction was one of the highlights of our Thekkady trip. If you're an animal lover or looking to connect with nature in a meaningful way, this place is a must-visit.
The elephants here are well cared for and treated with love, which was really important to us. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the experience.
We got to interact closely with the elephants — feeding, touching, and even walking beside them. There's an option for a short elephant ride, though we chose to skip that and focus more on spending quality time just being around the animals. It felt peaceful and humbling to be near such gentle giants. 🐘💛
One of the best parts was bathing and scrubbing the elephants in the river — a rare and beautiful experience that felt both joyful and grounding. They seemed to enjoy it just as much as we did!
The entire area is lush, green, and feels like a little sanctuary. You can also see other animals and explore the spice garden if you're interested in the full experience.
⚠️ Tips:
Go early in the day to avoid crowds and heat. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or a bit muddy. Be respectful of the animals — this is their space. ❤️ Overall, it was an amazing and heartwarming visit. It’s not just a tourist attraction — it’s a chance to connect with nature and understand elephants in a more personal, responsible way.
Highly recommended for families, couples, solo travelers — basically anyone looking for a unique and ethical wildlife...

The highlight for me was the elephant ride through the plantation – moving slowly on the back of such a majestic animal while surrounded by lush greenery is something I’ll never forget. But beyond rides, what makes Elephant Junction special are the experiences like feeding, bathing, and even showering with the elephants. Getting to hold a basket of fruit and watch the elephants gently take it from your hand is magical, and the playful water splashes during the bathing session are pure fun.
The staff here are knowledgeable and treat the elephants with care, making sure both visitors and animals are comfortable. They also explain the elephants’ habits, personalities, and history, which adds a nice educational touch. Photography is encouraged, and the staff are happy to help you capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
