I want to give an honest review of this hotel. So, this hotel is close to my home. I used to go here everytime to eat food. Aesthetics, food taste everything is fine. But if your service is not good, nothing matters. Whenever i used to sit down to eat food, in the midway they used to get the bill. I told them multiple times, not to get the bill in between the food. Let me finish and I am going to pay, because what if I want to order more and giving the bill in between having food is so disrespectful. Even we earn , we are not beggars. One fine day, I was very tired from work and came here to eat. I ordered some chicken dish and chapati first. After having chapati , I told them to get ghee rice. I did not even start eating the ghee rice and they got the bill. Inspite of telling repeated times. This time I really lost my cool and shouted at the entire staff. I did not even finish my food. And left without paying, because why should I?Why should I face the disrespect alone. Then, today after really long, I came to this hotel with my father because we were very tired and hungry. We had our food and were paying the bill for this food when an old uncle tells me, madam your 431/- bill is pending from past three months. I again got angry, because if we are coming to hotel to eat, we will ofc pay and go. We are not beggars. These people did not understand the key message behind me not paying the money, but still they are asking for the bill to be paid. It is not about money, it is about the disrespect. And you guys being in the hospitality industry, don't know how to respect your customers? Moreover, I did not receive any calls from them for payment but they said ,we called you three times, but you did not pick up. Such a lie.Secondly, once I left the restaurant with my father, we were the last ones to leave. After us, all the serving staff went. And they were mimicking my low pitch voice again and again by shouting loudly on road. I heard it, but did not say anything. I felt so bad. I didn't say anything. The thing is it is my fault that even after my disrespect I came here to eat. The name of this hotel is Sulthan, which means king. But I am sorry, no king treats his kingdom like this. Nothing happens by keeping the name Sulthan. A king is the one who serves his kingdom well. That's why not every hotel can become TAJ. I am sorry to say but hotels like these are destroying the...

Title: Rain, Hunger & a Royal Surprise at Sultanโ€™s Veedu!

Our experiences with food in Kerala mostly go well โ€” itโ€™s honestly hard to go wrong here. Whether it's a fancy hotel or a random thattukada with three chairs and a cat, you usually get something soul-satisfying. But today? Today was unexpectedly legendary.

Weโ€™ve passed by Sultanโ€™s Veedu a hundred times, always saying โ€œNext time, maybe.โ€ But today the rain came down like a cinematic plot twist, and we thought โ€” why not now?

We entered mildly drenched, borderline hangry, and suspicious. Five minutes later, we were questioning why we hadnโ€™t walked in here every single time we passed by.

Idiyappam? Soft as clouds, fresh as gossip in a village WhatsApp group. The paneer-veg gravy was humble and tasty โ€” like it was cooked by someoneโ€™s mom with love, not a robot chef on spice steroids. The chicken 65 had just the right crunch, no red dye drama, and enough flavour to make our taste buds do a mini flash mob.

Tea and coffee? Absolute comfort in a cup. They didnโ€™t try to overdo it with froth or hipster presentation โ€” just solid, home-style brews that said, โ€œRelax, we got you.โ€

Now the mango juice deserves its own award. Thick, pulpy, and suspiciously real โ€” like they skipped the syrup factory and went straight to hugging a mango tree. Ten out of ten, would drink and dribble again.

Parking? Slightly panic-inducing in the front โ€” one wrong move and you're the village entertainment. But pro tip: there's more parking at the back. We found it late, like plot twist in a Malayalam movie, but at least we found it.

Service was chill, no drama, no over-smiling waiters reciting menus like Shakespeare. Just friendly people bringing you hot food while you dry off and question your life choices (like why didnโ€™t we come here before?).

In short: This place delivers big joy with small dishes. Rain, roadside, random stop โ€” Sultanโ€™s Veedu turned a normal day into a royal feast. Highly recommend. Go hungry, leave happy. And for heavenโ€™s sake, donโ€™t wait for it to rain to discover this gem.

It was a long time desire to visit here, after hearing a lot of raving reviews about this place, after the second phase of Covid. I first thought it was just a hype. So got the chance recently to visit here. Had to chew my words back. The Ambiance was artistic, almost resembled that of a malabar sultan's home, lovely furniture & comfortable seats, great hospitality, lovely food, especially their best-sellers!! Instead of frozen desserts usually seen in most of the restaurants, they had awesome real puddings & desserts!! So this is what we ordered:

1.THABAQATH 5/5 A healthy shake, which was designed in 3 layers as the name suggests in Arabic..

2.COREAN BEEF (DRY) 5/5 If you are a beef lover, this special starter is for you...

3.BUN POROTTA 5/5 Their masterpiece best-seller which I really enjoyed.

4.KANTHARI CHICKEN CURRY 5/5 Just loved it & it was the perfect combination with their Bun Porotta,,,

5.COUPLE PLATTER (2 PAX) 5/5 The best perfect platter for 2 people in terms of Quality, Quantity, Taste & Rate....

6.CHATTI CHORU 5/5 Another crowd-puller best-seller of theirs which rice lovers would lap it up, instantly.

7.ILANEER PUDDING 6/5 (Loll) You all know what it is.. I can easily say it is CUSTOMER'S ENVY, OWNER'S PRIDE!! HE HE Yup, it is made by the owner's wife & is really a must-try!!

8.SULTHAN SPECIAL MOJITO 4/5

9.MANGO CREAM 5/5 Another lip-smacking, yummylicious dessert, trying for the first time.

All Together it was a memorable, mind-blowing experience!! Lots of different tempting, unheard items too in the menu. Would love to try them some day. Would definitely recommend this place to all..

I went there with keast expectations, as most of the restaurants were overrated in the Internet and later when we visit in real it will be a disaster. We went there as a group of four. Really stucked with what to order and the waiters suggested : chattichor, neychor ,Fish mandi and all...and Finally we ordered Fish Mandi...Waiting time was high for fish mandi that they told beforehand. And rate was 1200/- While waiting for the for the food we were really tensed.. .Because ordering a pricy food in the menu and what if it is a flop. When the Fish Mandi finally served and we took a small bite of the fish and all four were amazed by the flavour. Rice was ordinary but the Mayonaise and grilled Fish were top notch. EACH bite was having that flavour. Fish was quite big and worth the price. Don't know about their other dishes. Really want to try thier other dishes. 28 March 2023 : I tried thier coin porotta and chicken Kandhari combo, coin parrots was so soft and its tasty even can be consumed without any side dish. Chicken kandhari is lil bit spicy and those who can't bear spicy foods should avoid this. I really liked the flavour, spiciness and everything. It tasted amazing when tried with porotta. Tried chicken kandahar from many restaurants expecting it to be much spicy, but all of them will have green color in common and will be less spicy or not at all spicy. But sulthan veed served the best Kandhari Chicke with all spiciness..๐Ÿ˜€ Packing was also neat and clean.
