For a Nilambur-ian this is an age old bakery, probably one among the very first in Nilambur. They also had a hotel earlier, just behind the bakery, which is not seen these days, where the Biriyani seved with the traditional taste (heard that it was moved to a different building). Back to the bakery: they had a huge one earlier, now shrank to fewer things being sold. But what being prepared by them and sold are keeping the same taste as old times. Which is appreciable. And I belive the people known to union still visit the place. This is the only place where you can blindly buy baked items with no dangling mind bothering about the taste what it could be. Belive me, they will be tastier, if cake, both plum (mostly seen sold in Christmas and New year time) and marble cake (seen regardless of season) are marvelous. And the banana chips and the roasted ground nut with bearable spicey coating are awesome too... I wish if this review has categorised stars to rate different aspects. Union Bakery is Nilambur most oldest but modern bakery. I used to come here during vacations during the 2000-2010 period and would not get enough of the tastiest icecreams and snacks and sweets you could only buy here. Well know the Bakery has been renewed and made to please a modern aesthetic lover.
