During our trip to Kodaikanal on 18th August 2024, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting George’s Gourmet Kitchen, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences of our trip.

We ordered a pizza, tea, and cookies, and every single item was delicious. The pizza was baked to perfection — crisp base, rich flavors, and generous toppings that really stood out. The tea was refreshing and comforting in the cool Kodaikanal weather, while the cookies were simply delightful, freshly baked with a perfect balance of crunch and flavor.

What truly elevated our experience, however, was the warm and personal interaction with the owner, Chef George. He is not only a talented chef but also a genuinely kind and welcoming person. While we were chatting in Telugu, he overheard us and, to our pleasant surprise, greeted us fluently in Telugu! This small but thoughtful gesture instantly made us feel at home, even though we were miles away. We had a lovely conversation with him, and his down-to-earth nature and warmth left a lasting impression on us.

The restaurant itself has a cozy and inviting vibe — perfect for couples, families, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed meal in Kodaikanal. The attention to detail, both in the food and in the hospitality, reflects the passion Chef George puts into his work.

We had the pleasure of trying the bacon pepperoni pizza, and it was simply outstanding—rich in flavour, perfectly balanced, and made with genuine Italian passion. It's difficult to describe just how good it was; it’s something every pizza lover must try at least once.

We also enjoyed the Italian bagel with cream cheese and the freshly baked garlic bread—both were delicious and well-crafted. The hot chocolate was decent, though it didn’t stand out like the rest of the menu.
