Located a min walk from gachtala, just opposite to the ICICI bank netaji nagar brunch to be more precise. I've previously ordered tandoori naan and chicken tadka from here and those were literally good. So I decided to give this place a try and visited for my today's dinner. Before entering, they did spray sanitizer and checked my body temperature as well which every restaurant does these days for everyone's safety. After the sanitization I headed upstairs for my seat as their seating is available for dine in on the first floor. It wasn't really crowded at all and the seats were quite comfortable.
Now coming to the food I've tried,
Chicken Roll (₹60): It was pretty good. Had some good amount of chunky chicken pieces. The bread was perfectly crisp. Juicy, pretty decent. I liked it.
Chicken bharta ( ₹220) : Came in a white serving platter. With cream on top. I do judge food by watching at first and then by their taste and trust me I had a feeling that it's gonna be a disaster. Looking at the price paid I did expect that it'd come with some boiled eggs on top and it'd be a bit spicy looking gravy. Just like how a perfect chicken bharta should look like. It was kinda sweet because of the cream and had no eggs at all. Really a disappointment. I'd not recommend anyone to order this at all.
Tandoori Roti (₹15/piece) : As I've mentioned before that I've tried tandoori roti and tadka from here those were really good but this time idk why how the tandoori didn't seem the same. It was a little bit over crisp for my taste. Another disappointment.
Chicken Biryani (₹185) :The biryani was good. Loved the texture of the rice. It wasn't too much boiled neither too much dry. Well balanced. The potato was cooked properly, the chicken was soft as well. So it seemed pretty good to me. Though I've expected a little bit of onion as complimentary which goes well with biryani. That too wasn't present as well. I think maybe they don't give any onions or salad with anything as they sell onion salad and other salads separately. Idk how to react on this but anyway, this was my throughout experience at Azad Hind Dhaba today.
Judging by the name, I expected the dhaba type food to be few of their best from the menu but as they say, you should not judge a book by their cover. I don't recommend this place but if you really wanna go to this place then make sure you don't order their bharta. That was the worst of today. And they've increased the price by 10rupees in most of the dishes so do check that before...
Read moreThis might actually be the worst restaurant ever in Kolkata. The food items are so much overpriced. The charge so much but the quantity, quality, service and cleanliness all are so poor that you will regret ever walking into this place. We dined here at Durga Puja Dashami night and had a horrible experience. The bowl in which they were serving the kulcha and tandoori rooti had been used by previous customers and they were not cleaned and neither the foil was changed. There were residues of other types of bread items in the bowl that we didn't order.
The plates that they gave us were not cleaned. The plates had hair, oil and residue in them. Even after complaining when they changed the plates they still were not properly cleaned and were in dirty and unhygienic condition. All the food they served us were again horrible. The paneer butter masala had no flavour in it. It was completely bland and tasteless and there was definitely no butter in it. The quantity was not sufficient too as per the price. We ordered Masala Kulcha but they served us Aloo Paratha instead. The wash basin was inside the washroom only and both the basin and the washroom were completely dirty.
Also later we found out that they have increased prices of every food items by at least 90-100 Rs. during Puja. The paneer butter masala was 295, mutton biryani was 315, masala kulcha was 95, all were excluding GST. Plus the service of the waiters was...
Read moreHad to delete last review where I appreciated their Food Quality & service they provided as this time I am very disappointed. So recently I visited this Restaurant for Dinner where I ordered Mutton korma with Tandoori Roti where we were served Mutton Do pyaza and when we said that the floor manager smiled and said "We will compensate next time". Seriously? Very unprofessional! Do you really think I will revisit again or will recommend any other customers to visit such Restaurant where Staffs are irresponsible? No really. Now coming to taste factor, Mutton pieces were very small and was full of bones. Not only that, but also their butter tandoori Rotis were very hard and not at all buttery. Horrible experience! I also tried Butter Naan with Chicken Korma which was comparatively better. But trust me don't keep much expectations from them.
Their gravy item includes Egg & potato and weird sarcasm is that half a slice of potato is bigger than the Mutton piece they provides 🙌🤣 . Well I have shared pictures & videos for reference do...
