Haji Ali — Restaurant in Kolkata

First things first,this place serves the best Mughlai cuisine in Ajoynagar. Yes,there are other options but you won't get such a bountiful menu at the other ones. Since its quite near to my locality I've always tried their rolls but two weeks back, we decided to try their starters and main course. Since we were having a get together we ordered loads of items(both Mughlai and Chinese,yes they also serve Chinese as well, isn't that great!) but strangely I can just remember the names of the Mughlai items. As far as I can remember we had Peshawari tandoori chicken(well,a friend of mine had tried this earlier and suggested we order this one!), Chicken reshmi butter masala, special mutton biryani, chichken biryani, masala kulcha, cheese naan,tangri lazawab, mutton@ Rogan Josh, gulab jamun and finally firni. They excel both quality and quantity wise. It was a prompt delivery. Well, what can I say about the food? All the delicacies we had were simply superb. This outlet of Haji Ali can be easily located on Metropolitan Bypass Ajoy Nagar. They've a small dining upstairs and a big counter on road. By ditching Shiraj and Alibaba we went there for dinner.

Plain Naan @ Rs.50 (2.5/5) Rashili Tangri Murgh @ Rs.195 (2.5/5) This dish was recommended by the waiter. Two chicken tangri kebab cooked in tikka butter masala type gravy, topped with coriander leaves. Tangri pieces were good but the gravy was little to tangy than my liking. Portion size was okay, Naan was below average.

Haji Ali can't be said as really cheap option, considering the quality they serve plus basic ambiance with no washroom in dining, after adding gst its pricy for its class. Not really recommanded for...

This place was a recommendation from one of my friends to try for Mughlai foods, and we were not at all disappointed.

So, the place for dine in is not huge, not luxurious but definitely comfortable and cozy.

So, we order Murg Kali Mirch Tikka Kabab from Kababs, Chicken Biriyani with Egg and Chicken Kassa (4pcs) for dinner, and Fresh Lime Soda for drinks.
