Very opulent international design, eager staff not very efficiently managed. Inside the hotel, you could be anywhere - except for the cuisine, which is good. Outside, there is nothing to see within walking distance. The room is clean, well sized and comfortable. The shower is hot and plentiful. Unfortunately, several features are not very easy to sleep with: the a/c fan is noisy even on its lowest setting. The lighting controls are over-complicated: when I switched the bathroom light on during the night, some bedroom lights also came on, and couldn't be turned off except back at the bedside. The smoke detector has a bright green light that flashes irregularly.

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The buffet food was a good variety of well cooked Indian food, with a few European options.

Service in the restaurant is somewhat disorganised: Some time after we had chosen our food from the buffet, someone came round with a trolley of grilled fish and meat. By that time, we had already selected a full plate; if these options had been available on the buffet, we might have chosen them. Drinks took a long time to arrive. Several items on the buffet were mislabelled. At breakfast, the pot marked "oat porridge" was full of just warm milk! They wanted us to sign two copies...

During our 4-night stay with our parents, my father-in-law, who isn't well, had specific dietary needs that the Chef Selladurai and his team at the hotel graciously accommodated. The Chef personally approached us to discuss meal options and ensured every dish was prepared with meticulous care. Alongside his wonderful team, they made us feel completely at ease, like being at home. A special thanks to Mr. Shibu Janardhanan, the Food and Beverages Manager, whose dedication and expertise elevated our dining experience to extraordinary heights. His meticulous attention to detail and warm hospitality made every meal a memorable delight.

During this challenging period of frequent hospital visits, returning to Grand Madurai hotel was a comforting respite for us. I can't emphasize enough how accommodating and proactive the entire team was. The food was delicious and flawlessly prepared, matching the impeccable quality of our stay. The staff at Grand Madurai were exceptionally warm, attentive, and compassionate. Our room was impeccably clean, and overall, we had a fantastic experience thanks to the professional yet friendly...

Had a very refreshing and innovative menu for the independence day lunch buffet. As a vegetarian I generally have fewer options but the creation of the Chef was amazing. The menu leaves up its theme of the bazaar. Taste a variety of things. I enjoyed the delectable skewers of various types of all pure veg. The momos and dumplings were extremely good and freshly made. Pasta with tricolour and choice of sauces passed the tough test of my 3 year old. Lastly the Rasam with ponni rice and curd rice was satisfying. The staff is extremely courteous and the lady who attended our table took special care. Had a great experience overall and will definitely recommend it if you are traveling to Madurai. Thanks Shibu...

It was my birthday and we went as a family for the Sunday lunch. The ambience and atmosphere were outstanding. There were a lot of items on the buffet spread and we tried to taste most of them. Appam and coconut milk was out of the world. We really enjoyed the hospitality of Nivedha and Praba as they served most of the items in table. There was also a flash mob and we had a cake cutting to wrap up the occasion. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to taste a variety of items and have a nice time together with the family.

We cannot recommend the Bazaar restaurant highly enough. We were staying for 4 nights at the Grand Hotel Madurai and enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner most days. The wide range food was delicious and arrived quickly by friendly wait staff. Special thanks to our waitresses between, Bigyan, Poosathai, and Mr Jayapandian who were very helpful and even helped my wife with her traditional Indian kurta for the wedding we were attending.

I can define this place as the Heaven on the land of Madhurai where food, hospitality and hygiene are absolutely taken care with the best team. Everything here is just perfect. Please come and eat their buffet which has a wide range of items. And their staff omg is just the best staff one should have. Super polite and super smart in understanding what you need. Loved this place. A must visit whenever you are in Madhuri.
