Gateway All Day — Restaurant in Madurai

Had been to this place for couple of times. Presently had a stay for almost 8 days. Place and ambiance is fantastic with Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple view. However If you are a Resident i would recommend you not to choose any packages offered by the Hotel for Food. Especially like One Meal Package (Lunch / Dinner) since except weekends all day it's ala-karte and anything you order the Restuarant says it's chargeable or reduces the food size considerably hence it's suggested to go for actuals instead of packages since almost everything is extra and chargeable basis. More than what I had asked for. Amazing location, awesome food very courteous staff and too good to be true overall experience. Even though the prices were slightly higher priced maybe that's because it was a Taj property but worth a visit and try. Though I am sure the location around would have been better during the day as one gets en entire view of the city since it's located on a hill. At night the road to this place seems a bit scary but it's worth the thrill. Outside sitting is also an amazing experience. Property is also well maintained and very clean. The restaurant has pretty nice views, serves alcohol and good ambiance in general. The restroom on-site is clean for the most part but smelled which seems pretty bad for a Taj property.

It’s up a hill and there’s security at the entrance. While you can get dropped but not sure if you’d be able to get a cab via Ola/Uber up here for pickup. If you have to walk down it’s about 15 minutes.

Got a mojito here which was alright. Same for the Biryani. It didn’t come with Salan but when I asked they made it just for me. So top notch service! All in all the taste was just so so but...
