Beneath the Canopy Restaurant - Gateway Madurai — Restaurant in Madurai

The gateway property is really a wonderful place especially the experience is priceless. But they could do a lot with the restaurant food taste, price and portions. While the service is good, the portions are kid size and priced at triple the amount for what they should be. Compared to Taj Westend restaurant in Bangalore, this is exorbitantly priced at a place like madurai where raw material costs much lesser. 3 items which tasted very average, rather below average were priced at 2500 including taxes. All items on the menu are just 200- 300 Gms (kid sized portions) quantity with calories mentioned next to it. On an average 830 Rs per item for such less food and tasteless. If the restaurant can add exciting dishes, price reasonably, and give grown up portions to get the type of energy we need there, it would be helpful. We went to Taj property for experience and because of the high priced food we had to eat outside, which affected the entire experience.. I would recommend the property anytime. But not...

Amazing place.. well connected to city still away as it’s on a small hill. Views are amazing. Lots of peacocks and their sound … kids are for sure for a treat...
