As I visited Aurangabad, it was on my to-Go place. After finishing Aurangabad caves and Goga Baba trek, I entered here as I was too tired
As soon as I took a seat, the plate came and dishes started pouring in quick succession as though all food servers were dancing in a sequential rhythm😅. I waited for it to end to take the posted pic. Yes so no Menu will come and no questions asked as there is only one item served here. I went for lunch.
My favorite was a small roti on top with jaggery and ghee. I ordered at least 3🤭. Bhindi or ladyfinger sabji was also awesome ka baap😆. Then sweet dishes like fruit custard and peda were also mouth melting ones. Poori was small and Ok. Chappatis were served hot. Buttermilk was good with mild salt.
The supervisor used to monitor everyone's thaali and if he sees it without chappati or rice he would be unhappy with the serving guys. The supervisor or manager were dressed differently with big proud looking Rajasthani moustaches which is nice to see. It just gives perception of them not being polite or serving but that's not so. They were taking care of each customer & refills were happening super fast.
The only point I didn't like was the ending. The bill came and I requested a QR code based payment. The guy came and I asked him if I could take the water bottle kept for me on the table which I haven't utilised. He said if you want to drink, drink it here but we don't allow the bottle to be taken out 🤔😕. Also this was the only guy who wasn't polite enough in the interaction. A smile doesn't cost much anyway. I fail to understand this protocol or logic behind it.
My recommendation is to include one water bottle as part of Rs 350 thaali package and leave it to the customer on its utilisation. Many people don't drink while eating or immediately post that as they wait for 10-15 minutes for food to settle down and drink it while on their way back to their homes coming from long distances.
Overall, I really enjoyed the Thaali experience. My poor stomach needed some alone time to process everything that was fed in so I obliged and went for the long afternoon sleep...

What impressed me even more was the quality and quantity of food offered. It was truly unlimited, and the servers were attentive, ensuring that my plate was always filled with piping hot dishes. I never felt rushed, allowing me to savor each dish at my own pace.
The thali also included a variety of chutneys, pickles, and fresh rotis that complemented the main dishes beautifully. And for those with a sweet tooth, the dessert section did not disappoint. The ghewar and malpua were the perfect sweet endings to an already fantastic meal.
To top it all off, the pricing at BHOJ was incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety of food on offer. A Marwadi thali of this caliber for just Rs. 500 is an absolute steal.
