The service of restaurant is too slow. In starters we ordered Corn tikki and haryali kebab along with 2 masala papads. Quality of starters was very average with a bland taste. They provided one masala papad first and then took about 15 mins to bring another one. In mains we ordered Veg Biryani and Kadhai Paneer. In response they brought Veg pulao and kadhai paneer and that too very late. The taste again being very average. In a nut shell the extremely high cost of this place doesnt justify the poor service and taste of food they have. Left the place extremely disappointed ☹️

It's an in house restaurant of Maharashtra's first heritage fort hotel "Fort Jadhavgadh. The ambiance is really soothing, calm and showcases Maratha history. The food was delicious too. Staffs were very helpful and polite.

Loved it. We had lunch and dinner on the same day there and felt the choices were limited to have 2 meals back to back. The outdoor seating is a must experience. Do check out the jail that's converted into a wine cellar.

Before I start my review, here are a few pointers that should serve everybody who's looking to stay or have food in this third-class category hotel. The approach road that takes you to JadhavGadh is the worst ever. Don't even think of going there in monsoons. The potholes are so big and nasty that you might crash your car or bike and injure your loved ones. There are virtually no signboards or posters that point to JadhavGadh. Travelling from Pune in those dark roads shouldn't be anybody's idea of a holiday. When we finally reached there, we saw many cars parked in the parking lot of JadhavGadh. Interestingly there were no drivers there besides the car or inside the car. This is a very famous trick devised by Shri Vittal Kamat owner of Orchid Hotels or Kamat Hotels to lure in unsuspecting customers thinking that there are many people in the hotel and that this hotel must be at a good place! He has written about this trick in his book "Idli, Orchid, and Me". DO NOT take your ageing mom, dad, aunts, or uncles. There are steep, I mean, really steep steps to climb that suck the life out of you. The steps are NOT adequately lighted either. An absolute NO NO.

While I thought that Rs 899 per head on a Sunday dinner was okayish, i was shocked when i got to know the menu: 1 veg and 1 non veg starter? Why would any wise soul want to travel all the way from Pune. Waste his time, energy and money to get to JG and then have only one starter??

I was duely pointed to Chhajja that took us a few more steep steps to climb. Aab itni dur aa hi gaye hai, so we climbed a few more steps. My mother who had a knee surgery was in bit of pain and took some time to climb those stupid steps. We finally reached Chajja, the a la carte place! It was bloody hot out there. Thankfully, they had a cooler which we used.

And now starts the fun: We asked for the Menu Card. What we received next belied the name, quality, and trust of a Kamat brand aka the Orchid Hotels. Shamelessly we were handed over the same menu that we had seen in the buffer. YES, a photocopy of the menu which had about 10 items. This shell shocked the hell out of me and now I was seething in anger. What's worse, the photocopy DID NOT have any prices besides the items. In other words, that famous right-hand column of prices was missing. I was still OK to order anything, but JG was NOT done yet. We ordered Rice and Dal for my 2 year old daughter Shrinika, but the Waiter said you'll have to wait 25 mins !!! Aree? How long does it take to bring that goddamn rice from that so-called ethnic place downstairs? In the meantime, the water bottles that we had ordered arrived. I opened one and drank some water, but we still hadn't finished arguing over the food. The most pathetic part of this so-called heritage hotel was there was ONLY ONE WAITER who also was the Captain to take orders, the one who cleared the dishes, the one who made the bills, and the one who ran the restaurant and hotel too may be ! Not just us but other guests too were fuming in anger with the super-duper late service. Small kids were crying due to hunger and it was getting hotter by the min. We had enough and started to walk off. Asked for the water bottle bill which costs us Rs 63 -- yeah right ! I gave the money and was waiting for the change. Next I saw that some other waiter was fighting with the first waiter and a big fighting ensued. I just couldn't stand there even for a sec and paid the bill downstairs never ever to come back again.

To sum it up JadhavGadh is the MOST PATHETIC and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE hotel that I have ever come across. DO NOT for the love of God think of travelling all the way from Pune or other place for the food. There are many other better places like "Garva" which is...

Chhajja - The coffee shop at Jadhavgadh is a wonderfully located restaurant, which offers balcony views of the fort entrance steps and is situated within the fort itself.

The service here is apathetic and terribly slow. We had to wait for almost 40 mins for our food. Sadly the food served here is quite mediocre. We ordered the Pithala Bhakri, Dal Tadka and Garlic Naan and found all to be quite average. The quantity served is sufficient for 2-3 people and the price is also on the higher side. Dine here only if you want to save money on the Buffet at Payatha restaurant, which is...
