Eat Local — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Worst experience. DO NOT EAT HERE, EVER! You will waste your time and money! Go to Jagadish residency/Jagadish deluxe instead. Please note I am in no way associated with either of the 2 hotels, as you can see from my review history. The hotel is full of cheats who have made it a habit to cheat customers and mock them by sticking to their lies even when they are caught red handed. Worst experience at Dapoli. Please note that my review in no way represents their room service or hotel facilities. Let me elaborate: We reached Eat local, probably 2nd customer reaching the hotel for lunch on a Sunday. Surprised to see no crowd there, we thought we were at the wrong place. But thought maybe we should give it a try. So we went through the menu, and shortlisted the items we wanted to order. We wanted to try some authentic fish dishes. I am guessing most people are going there for the same, so this review may be relevant for you. We decided on many prawns dishes and a few varieties of fish. When the waiter was called and we tried placing an order we were informed none of the orders we shortlisted were available. We were looking forward to having prawns dishes. Astonished at this, we questioned it, and the waiter replied that the hotel has no stock of it and prawns is unavailable and same is true for many other dishes we wanted. We were forced to order from the limited list of "eat local" instead of having the ability to eat something that is local to the place. We then reluctantly placed the order and when we were almost done, we realized that the hotel was filling up. A new group that came in ordered prawns and to our amazement, the the waiter accepted their order and walked away. Till this point we were in the dark about how the hotel operates and trusted them :( Annoyed, we asked the waiter, if there was any prawns dish available. To which he again replied that there was none available. This is when I realized that these folks have no value for customers and think they are idiots and lie to their faces. When I complained about the overheard conversation, I was told it is now in stock. How do you respond to that now! The best I can do is tell you the truth about what happened so that you don't face this issue again. I wish I could give...

We were there for on our anniversary eve. Thought of getting good experience as it's only restaurant in dapoli with cozy ambiance. We entered the restaurant and the staff was staring at us like why did these people arrived. Nobody greeted us. The lady staff was dumb. We find a place ourselves and waited for someone who would take our order. We asked for the menu card and searched for soup options. We were ordering the wonton soup and confirmed with the captain about the authenticity of the soup. Like filling of wontons, veggies etc and requested for getting good soup as it was raining outside. Soup arrived and we were surprised to see the uncooked wontons. The wonton skin was uncooked and sticky. Utter disappointment. We complained for the same but just there were formalities of asking for replacement. We refused. Now we didn't dared to order appetizers. We decided to order a butter chicken. That was cooked in onion gravy and not makhni gravy. Chicken pieces were stale. Manager Mr.Dilip tried to convince(fool) us about how they maintain chicken. Meanwhile we were dripping with sweat. After requesting they put on the Ac. They offered us the complementary icecream which was broken into ice Crystals. Thus we had a great time there. Do improve...

An upmarket restaurant for a Taluka place like Dapoli. Good ambience and helpful staff. I would rate it as under : Location - Excellent Ambience - Very Good Food Quality - Good ** ( However doesn't meet expectations ) Prices - Expensive from a Dapoli standpoint.

We had ordered for the following :

Squid Butter Garlic with Black Pepper - Excellent Surmai Fry - Was good - however the edges of the skin were smelly. Pomfret Malvani ( Local preparation ) - This was a complete disaster. Though the fish was fresh , they served us a Manglorean preparation which includes a lot of grounded fresh coconut and coconut milk. Mutton Sukke - ( local preparation ) - This too was far from what was expected. Should have been cooked with spices - chopped onions , garlic , coriander leaves without any water based gravy. However we were served a gravy based preparation as Mutton Sukke. Monchow Soup - Excellent Veg Fried Rice - Excellent.

Inference - Kindly do not expect local Maharashtrian - Kokan cuisine. However they are a good...
