While returning from Mahabaleshwar to Pune, I, along with three friends, decided to halt at Jai Bhavani Hotel for dinner. We reached the hotel at 9:10 PM and registered for a table. To our disappointment, we had to wait until 10:50 PM just to be seated.
Even after being allotted a table, there was a further delay of 30 minutes before our order was taken, and the food was finally served around 11:40 PM. Our order included:
01 Mutton Dry Thali
02 Gavran Chicken Dry Thalis
While the taste of the food was appreciable, the overall dining experience was severely compromised due to poor staff conduct and lack of hygiene.
We observed multiple staff members chewing tobacco and Vimal while on duty. What was even more disturbing was witnessing them spitting near or around utensils like plates, thalis, and catoras. This unhygienic and reckless behavior is unacceptable in any food service environment.
Due to this, I could not proceed with my meal, as the situation was highly off-putting and concerning from a health and safety perspective.
When I brought the issue to the owner's attention, his response was surprisingly casual. He remarked, "There’s no issue, we always wash the plates and serve again." This reflects a serious lapse in food safety culture and customer respect.
Such carelessness not only tarnishes the establishment’s image but also poses a direct health risk to diners. I strongly urge the management to enforce strict hygiene protocols and train staff on professional behavior, as this kind of negligence can have serious...
Read more3.5 stars to be precise. Tasty food esp. matka biryani recipes , decent service, hygiene needs to improve We had gone to try Jagdamb which is the more celebrated hotel right next to this place. But heavy waiting forced us to look elsewhere...this place benefits from all those who don't get a place at Jagdamb Parking arrangements are decent split into 2 lots places 50m apart We tried mutton thali and mutton biryani Mutton is bolhai...ie lamb mutton They serve mutton fry, mutton pickle and mutton rassa with thali plus one bisleri (500ml with thali) The mutton fry is outstanding esp the ghee tadka makes it quite amazing. The only negative is the pieces were a bit chewy. The pickle is more like just the masala of mutton fry...it doesn't have pieces. Mutton rassa is only the stock plus masala. Nothing great Matka biryani is a star...right from portion to taste totally worth it. It's a little wet and makes it delicious. The mutton in this was perfectly well cooked unlike in mutton fry. You get koshimibir or salad with curd and it's good. No bisleri with biryani. Serves 2 people Staff is all non localities and speak Hindi only. But decent. Okish service Hygiene on tables need to improve esp the outside has a lot of flies and need to be taken care of. Owner assured me of taking care next time Overall biryani is the best piece here. Rest...
Read moreVisited Jai Bhawani Mutton Bhakri with a lot of expectations since it’s quite popular and often hyped up, but honestly, the experience was underwhelming.
🔹 Food Quality: The mutton thali and bhakri were decent but nothing extraordinary to justify the hype or the price. Taste was strictly average – not bad, but not something you would want to go back for. The only item that truly stood out was their cucumber koshimbir, which was refreshing and easily the highlight of the meal.
🔹 Pricing: On the higher side compared to the quality and quantity offered. Definitely feels costly for what you actually get on the plate.
🔹 Ambience & Cleanliness: The place has ample parking, which is a plus, but the overall cleanliness is disappointing. Tables, surroundings, and even the serving area didn’t feel well-maintained, which takes away from the dining experience.
🔹 Service: Service was okay, nothing much to complain about, but nothing special either.
Verdict: Overhyped and overpriced. Food is okay-ok, not worth the fame it has got. If you are passing by, you can try once, but don’t keep high expectations. For me, the only memorable thing was the...
