We were returning from konkan via kolhapur, as this is our regular road back to Mumbai. Many a times we had come across Shetkari on this wonderful picturesque sugarcane fields laden road. This time we thought of giving it a try. So the experience we had here is jotted down below. Shetkari means farmer in Marathi for those who are not familiar. Enroute Mumbai you will be greeted by Shetkari on your left. There is no separate parking space, so you need to park your car on the road. Enough space to park approximate 5 - 6 cars. We reached here at around 14:00 hours, lunch time for majority of late comers. As we had embarked on our journey early morning, we had to freshen up. I signalled and asked the person who was making tandoori roti for directions to restroom, he directed me to first floor. I was welcomed by strong stench of restroom, obviously I was sceptical to use it initially. But since I had no option, covered my nose and finished my business quickly. While leaving I saw cigarette buds strewn in restroom, and empty beer bottles lying outside with some glasses. There are two different sections one is Thali and other is Handi. Since it was just my brother and me, chose thali option. Since we were hungry the wait seemed to be long. Finally the thali came in (we ordered broiler chicken thali) they also have Desi chicken thali and mutton thali (goat meat). We were greeted with chicken in one plate and Tambda and Pandhara Rassa in two small bowls( Red chicken stock and white chicken stock) local delicacy and millet roti called as Bhakri. Personally I found the Bhakri interesting it was soft and dry. Chicken was average, I said average cause i could feel the taste of boiled chicken and gravy separately, also they had provided salad with onion and tomato. Bhakri, salad, and Rassa are unlimited. I ordered 1 more bhakri to my appetite and asked for rice. They serve pulav as rice, minus the veggies in pulav.
Interiors are pretty basic in thali section, nothing much to add here.
So to sum up the review it was average lunch with average price 210 per thali. Had the toilet been cleaner I would have given 4 star. For now Shetkari has to settle...

The Taste... The service... And the owner.... Literally the worst experience I've had after a long time.
Following dishes are examples of how to ruin some best and most ordered dishes :-
1). Mutton masala (first time ever I ate this dish which had Black pepper in it which still hurts my tounge when I recall that place.) 😵💫🫨🫨
3). Pandhra Rassa (that doesn't even look Pandhra, don't even ask about the taste) 😭😭
P.S.I. :-
I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VISIT THIS PLACE... Unless and untill the chef or the service and the Owner improves...
Read moreThe food is really awesome. Since we were traveling to our native place at Sindhudurg during Ganesh festival we had ordered only vegetarian food. The food was really awesome with more than enough quantity. Unfortunately, we ordered more and had to pack it and get it home to avoid wastage. Trust me, you should try at least once over here and I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy it. We have already decided to have our food only at this place going forward whenever we travel to our native and whenever we are at Kolhapur. Will try Non-veg food next time and...
