Hotel Shilpa (Gavran) — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Hotel Shilpa (Gavran) is one of my favourite place in Pune. And i have been visiting this restaurant for the last 15 years. There are several places in Pune who claim to serve the best mutton sukka or mutton black rassa but hardly few maintain the authenticity and match up to your expectations...TRY hotel Shilpa and you will realize what actual mutton sukka or mutton gavran rassa is, only true lovers of Maharashtrian meat delicacies can differntiate or judge these recipes. Thier black muttton gavran rassa, sukka, mutton aalni are just out of the world. This place is not a jazzy one so do not go by the looks, however they have now renovated well and made space for family dining as well. Its a secret place for Maharatrian meat lovers so its hardly known to the crowd...ask them to serve you the gavran rassa specifically..... If you are having few drinks at thier bar ask for the rassa vati as a sider...super spicy but...

Must try their mutton sukha and alani rassa. I went there with colleagues. We ordered mutton sukha, bhakhari and alani rassa (broth). All three have to be ordered separately. This is different from their standard mutton thali. Try this and decide if it is not the best non veg thing you have ever tried - Eat the bhakari with mutton and have a spoonful of the rassa. It tastes heavenly. We have been to this place many times since. Mutton is always well cooked and taste is always consistent. If you don't eat spicy food, tell the waiter to make it medium spicy. You will want to visit this place again and again. Ambiance is average and best suited for group of guys. But what they lack in ambiance, they make up ten times...

Its located next to forbes marshall company just before nashik phata.

Its no frills Restaurant with bar and separate family section.

The ambience is bare minimum.

Their Specialty is their chicken rassa.

We ordered Half handi rassa ₹200 - more economical than ordering separate bowls.

Chicken sukka ₹240 Chicken cooked in spicy dry masala.

Chicken chilli - ₹ 270 chicken chilli with capicum and oriental sauce.

Boiled garlic -

Chicken handi half ₹500 with bhakri and rice.

They also offer thalis and other dishes in Chinese and north indian cuisine.
