Go for the Cafe…Not the coffee!

Sundays are all about lazy wake ups and sumptuous breakfasts. And I dropped into Jerry’s Cafe in Ulwe for just that. Here’s my review on what’s hot and what’s not out there for you morning breakfast lovers.

Ambience: The first impression is nice. It is curated with interesting wall artworks, frames and creative illustrations that set the mood right. If you’re solo or a couple, you should be able to find your comfy corner quickly. In a group you may take some time to decide where you feel like plopping yourself. There is place in the loft, but it doesnt feel as fresh and ventilated as downstairs.

Food: This isn’t a fast food cafe. So if you’re going there for breakfast, my recco would be to grab a small bite before coming here. They make it fresh and fresh stuff takes close to 15 - 20 minutes. This is where you take your time and enjoy the stuff.

I ordered for American and European breakfasts. And they looked good. Me and Taara (my partner in dine) savoured every bite. The Pancakes where soft and fluffy and sprinkled with pomegranate to add a bit of zing to it. Sausages were grilled with love and perfection. They even serve you with a good portion of fresh fruits that make you feel and satisfied towards the end.

Spoilers were half toasted bread (on my side to be honest), and one egg portions which seems to be a tad less for someone who’s here for a hearty breakky. They should surely look into doing 2 eggs to add some weight to it.

A huge disappointment were the cappuccino and Americano. My sincere suggestion to them would be to give juice rather than bad coffee as that just ruins the lovely experience towards the end. Or then get their coffee making right since it is a cafe after all.

The staff was great. Made us feel comfy. Would surely like to come back to try some other breakfast combos and perhaps some of their sandwiches too.

The staff here is non attentive. They seem lost in their own world. After asking someone to take our order multiple times, our order was taken. The food took too long to arrive even when there was no rush. The staff doesn't have a clue about the offers. We orderd a combo which included a veg sandwich , shake and fries.The sandwich was good. The fries and shake were average. Also, the combo cost us 399 which was more than what would cost us if we had individually ordered the items. Further, when we checked the bill, we were charged for a chicken sandwich combo. The ventilation here is not proper, seemed a little...

Incompetent Staff

Being from a hospitality background, i have a fair idea on how you treat a guest.

The lady at the counter was so high of attitude. After repeatedly asking for two cups of cold coffee the answer we were getting was - one minute and two minute . I don't know where the cold coffee was coming from.

I had to leave without taking my coffee as we were getting late.(By the way i paid for it)

The lady was more keen on taking more order rather than following up on my order.
