Kavita Hotel — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Few places are so famous , you hardly bother thinking about ambiance , serving and even hygiene too 🙄🤷 hotel Kavita is one of them . This is more than 35 year old restaurant serving only khichdi-kadhi , Bhaji / pakoda , tea , coffee One of the oldest and famous food joint . I visited early morning otherwise it's hard to get a place to sit here. The khichdi is actually with no daal so you can fairly call it veg pulao . The owner and the staff is friendly . Service is fast They happily shared information and also showed me their kitchen. Everyday They cook 100 kg rice and 100 ltrs of kadhi . The bhaji as they call here to pakoda is damn crisp and served hot. The kadhi is medium thick and flavorful. If you have noticed in pics I shared .. the costliest is the coffee . They literally make it from reduced milk . Khichdi and kadhi in quite good amount and only for 18 rs is the best deal anyone can think of , the taste is a plus plus . What I was told by my brother that they had ground floor restaurant prior but due to some reason they had to vacate it . The owner of the shop started his own khichdi joint . #not_in_Pune नांदेड स्पेशल कढी खिचडी (कविता रेस्टॉरंट,नांदेड) "खिचडी कढी" हा खरंतर नांदेड आणि आसपास भागात मिळणारा तिथला लोकल पदार्थ !  गेल्या आठवड्यात नांदेडला काही कामानिमित्त जाणं झालं तेव्हा तिथं गेल्यावर तिथले काही लोकल फुड्स ट्राय करायचे म्हणून काही ठिकाणं shortlist केली होती , Google रिव्ह्यू, YouTube videos मधून कढी खिचडी साठी आम्ही "कविता रेस्टॉरंट" ची निवडलं, गुरुद्वरामधून दर्शन झाल्या झाल्या आम्ही आमचा मोर्चा कविता रेस्टॉरंट कडे वळवला, रेस्टॉरंट अतिशय साधे आहे , तिथे पोहोचताच सगळे टेबल्स फुल्ल होते आणि नजर पोहोचेल त्या टेबल वर फक्त आणि फक्त कढी खिचडी आणि भजे! १० मिनिटानंतर आम्हाला टेबल मिळाला , आम्ही प्रत्येकाने कडी खिचडी, भजे आणि बुंदी ची ऑर्डर दिली , २ मिनटात गरम गरम ऑर्डर टेबलवर हजर ! Garnishing वा दुसरी कोणती रंगीबेरंगी सजावट न करता एका डिश मध्ये खिचडी, वाटीमध्ये कढी आणि पेपरच्या पानावर बुंदी आणि भजे इतका साधा आणि सुटसुटीत मांडणी! खिचडी सोबत कडी आणि तोंडी लावायला भजे आणि बुंदी एक भन्नाट कॉम्बिनेशन लागत होतं, खिचडी व्यवस्थित शिजली होती आणि त्यामध्ये अगदी योग्य प्रमाणात गरम मसाल्यांचा वापर केल्यामुळे कढी शिवाय खायला पण छान लागतं होती , शेवट इथल्या कॉफीने करून मस्तपैकी ढेकर देऊन पोटाला शांत करत बिल काउंटर ला पोहोचून बिल वाचून आश्चर्य वाटले, ४ जण पोटभर खाऊन बिल मात्र १३० रू !! (खिचडी २० रू , भजे आणि बुंदी प्रत्येकी २५ रू). मला असं कायम वाटतं अश्या ठिकाणी ambience विसरून फक्त चवीसाठी जिभेचे लाड पुरवायला...
