Kokan Spice — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Kulaba spice looks good with respect only to the interior but its service is extremely horrible. We had to wait for 45 mins for our service to come. When u have so much time it gives you to time to look around. They take atlest 10 mins to respond on a simple query like asking for water or menu card. There is one waiter who used to remind me of Harry Porters 1st movie when Dudley used to run down the stairs to irritate Harry and make lot of noise. We could see dishes being ready and kept outside but they used to take their time to serve. We orderd for Surmai as there was no Pomfret available but the surmai fry took the longest to come but it didnt have the taste nor was it marinated properly. We ordered for prawns biryani but there was hardly any prawns in it. Infact the biryani did not have any flavor of prawns. It felt as if prawns was stuffed at the last moment with some gravy. Manchow soup had big an whole garlic pieces in it. Kulaba is expensive as well. We could see all the tables getting the same experience where everyone had to wait for atleast an hour. There is Sanman restaurant just a minutes walking distance from there. Please visit that place instead. Had Surmai fry at both places but i felt i was cheated at Kulaba as they charged me rs. 400 whereas the size was not big enough. Sanman charges rs. 230 with a bigger size and perfect...

What a lovely place to have meals. During my stay at Alibaug I tried this place with my friends. We got a very heartfelt welcome from the staff here. Must say they are just too polite. The ambience is very pleasing and the furniture is very comfortable. Ample seating space. Fully air conditioned and they have two floors. Loved how they serve water in copper glasses. They also play light music in the background which enlightens the mood.

What I ordered-

Prawns fry- Best dish here. The prawns was fresh and well marinated with spices. It was fried and cooked well. Good number of pieces too.

Surmai fry- Again a good flavourful fried fish cooked really well.

Chicken lollipop- Really crispy lollipops. Loved the taste.

Potato chips- very huge portion. The chips were crispy and seasoned with salt and pepper. Tasted good.

Chicken tikka masala- A really flavourful chicken tikka masala. We accompanied it with garlic naan, butter roti and tandoori roti which tasted amazing.

Lime soda- This was just to finish off the meal. A good and refreshing drink.

The food is bad and the service is worst...rather Pathetic... Had ordered fish curry along with chicken... Took 40mins to prepare fish curry and once it was served, the taste was very blant and the fish was frozen. We had ordered bhakri along with chicken, the bhakri was served but the chicken was never served even after an hour n more of waiting, even though we had to constantly remind them about that. Unfortunately we had to leave with an empty stomach. And when I told them that I would be putting up a review about the food and service, instead of being apologetic about the service , they were smiling and laughing shamelessly.
