Malvan Tadka — Restaurant in Maharashtra

This is nice hotel in Ulwe for nonveg lovers. The food preparation was nice but could be improved. Restaurant has nice setup and one can go with family members. They have 5-6 branches in Mumbai.

Now one may wonder why 1 star for this Ulwe branch. Staff cannot manage customers visiting to this restaurant and they are seriously understaff and cannot even manage customers sitting in their restaurant as per capacity and management is completely seems to be unaware even knowing the fact that Ulwe is continuously growing and they are one of the decent restaurants in the area where people are visiting with families. It was Sunday when I visited and forget the owner they dont even have manager present in the restaurant. Unfortunately the serving staff was answering to all visitors and facing to their questions. I am writing what I have seen and faced myself.

Orders are delayed for customers upto 45 min to 1 hour. Even to get water bottle people found waiting for more than 30 min even though they are sitting on the table and asking serving staff repeatedly.

I have seen at least 6 families left restaurant because they were not attended or even order was taken from them or if they have ordered they were not served for more than 45 min to 1 hour even with first dish or starter.

They were serving starters along with main dish ordered even though people kept on informing them to get the main dish later but found at least 7-8 tables where people complained about it as they have to eat food which is not warm but the serving staff was found least bother and as mentioned there was no manager or owner to attend customers or correct these things.

People have came with families to have dinner but finally landed up listening to heated conversations of multiple families along with serving staff thus ruining the entire experience of eating in restaurant along with family members.

Serving staff was mixing orders of people and on top of it they were changing orders without consent from people who ordered it. For example someone ordered dal makhani they replaced it with dal fry without even informing them. There were many instances where they were even not listening to given instructions. For example informed them not to include egg in murg Mussulum as one of the family member is alergic to it but dish was served after 45 min with egg completely mixed and then once again had to wait and got it replaced after waiting another 35 min.

Finally its good setup which is understaffed to even serve people as per even the capacity of the place. There is no manager or owner presence to take care of the staff and visitors to this restaurant. They should give attention to these facts as they have good potential to become one of the good restaurant in Ulwe.

My family went for lunch to this place. The server showed us a platter of sea food and told us some exorbitant rates. We agreed to a mid-size Surmai for ₹1.3K which would serve 2 fry pieces each and 3 pieces in Malvan fish curry. The waiter made us wait for an half an hour and informed they will make it fresh and again made us wait for another 35 minutes. We were served fish fries which were 2 inches long and 1.5 inches in breadth. This was followed by 1.5 pieces in curry of the same size fish! The server was just not willing to commit that they had served the large fish we had selected. COMPLETE CHEATING and ZERO INTEGRITY. We were so disgusted that we ate and left to complete our lunch at Mahesh Lunch home. We ate to our-hearts fill at a lower bill amount with excellent service. We have photographs to back this review. Our suggestion is to avoid this Malvan Tadka completely for their poor integrity, extremely small portions and bad service.
