Mehendale's Swad Dining — Restaurant in Maharashtra

It's not just Swad (Taste) .. it's Swadisht (Tastiest) food 😀.

Swad dining is located in small beach town, Malgund. The restaurant is very easy to locate on road connecting Ganpatipule to Jaigad.

The food they serve is basic Maharashtrian homely food. The food you will find in any marathi (majorly brahman) families on any given day. They serve full meal and you can either go for it or if you wish to have just few items that is also available. Typically they serve two bhaji, with piping hot poli, varan bhat, koshimbir, pickles, papad, tak, etc. Everything is upto the mark. You can go for additional sweet dishes like Ukadiche Modak (pre book only), Aamaras, Shrikhand, etc. They have got a good solkadhi as well. All are upto the mark, fresh and tasty. If you are looking for oily, spicy and heavy food, go somewhere else.

The service is icing on the top. All the servers are polite, soft spoken and humble. The service is fairly quick. They have basic and fresh decor. The restaurant cleanliness is upto the mark, surrounding is also good and clean.

They have dedicated parking place as well.

One suggestion or rather request I would like to make. They should start serving some kokani delicacies in the breakfast. Currently they don't serve breakfast 🥺.

Overall very good experience and it goes light on...

We were staying in ratnagiri and travelled to Ganpatipule to visit few beaches. While returning suddenly our car started malfunctioning and stopped just in from of Swad dining. I don't know if God was protecting us as the place was unknown n car mechanics were not Available so this very humanly human Mr. Mehandale himself stepped out and stretched out his full support and help to us. He is himself super skilled n fascinated with cars ( which turned out in our favor) and quickly said what can be the reason of malfunctioning and to our surprise turned out right when we checked the YouTube videos. Then he himself came with us in the car (in his business's peak hours) to show us the diesel pump (he only suggested the solution which was quite right). Gods exist in between humans in the most humanly and humble form. Thank you so much Mr. Mehandale because of people like you only this world is still surviving. And most importantly his Swad dining serves the nest veg thali wid yummy srikahnd n mangro Ras... Best I ever...

I would absolutely recommend this for good homely vegetarian food. Everything in the plate is delicious . MAKE SURE TO CALL 3 HOYRS PRIOR IF YOU WANNA HAVE MODAKS . Also make sure to call prior to book your table as they always are running full. The owner and the service staff is really polite and kind. There is no rush and unnecessary chaos. Its very homely and clean place. We had the thali with aamras ( day 1) and then 5 modaks( on second day ) . Despite of it not being the mango season , the aamras seemed very fresh. The service staff was very honest in answering the questions related to aamras. We had modak on the next day and it was one of the best modaks i had in my life. I would request you to try that for sure. The remaining thali is as delicious as the specials. You might wonder with the quantity of the food but once you start eating , you would realise its totally adequate for one person. The chapatis are fresh , soft and warm . Had a delightful experience and would definitely recommend this. Worth...
