This place has a prominent presence on the road, located right at the junction that takes you to the popular beach spot. So it draws a good crowd. However, the positives stop there and Morya Restaurant hugely disappoints. Not just disappoints, but you’ll leave this place frustrated & how!
It begins as soon as you enter - the place is severely understaffed. There’s just one guy to attend the 1st floor seating, but he himself is disinterested in doing actual work. The tables are laid out but chairs are missing. As you stand there waiting to get help, the guy will walk past you but won’t offer any help, nor ask you why you have been standing for a few minutes near a table.
Then you manage to arrange for your own chairs, and wait to be served some water and a menu card. Instead, you are served a generous plate of disappointment with a side of ignorance from the staff. So you have to get up from the table and walk to the reception to bring to their attention that chairs are missing, no water is served and no order is taken.
A few minutes pass and the crows in your stomach have delivered long speeches, your order is then taken. “Phew,” you say, and wait.
Welp! The guy comes back 10 mins later to say, “Sorry, that thing you ordered, and the other thing? That’s NOT available.” So you order alternatives and wait again.
Meanwhile, the first floor “A/C Hall” that you are seated in is now filled with people, all while being “cooled” with a mere 0.8ton AC that’s as exhausted as the crows in your stomach are. For 6-7 tables of 4 seats each, having single AC that’s not even 1 ton is a practice that should be outlawed.
Anyway, you wait a bit more and you think that the food has arrived, but nope, what has arrived is tasteless & salt-less pieces of meat with layers of raw masala that sum up to be a waste of money.
Thankfully, the thalis we ordered were decent. The food in the thalis was tasty enough to be enjoyed, nothing out of the extraordinary.
Overall, Morya has poor ambience, poor staff, bad service, OK food — all that ends up being an overall bad experience. Nothing to sing praises about.
So I generally recommend avoiding this place, unless eating here is a...
Read moreThis place is situated at the entry of Kihim Beach, Alibaug. It is quite easy locate. The place is eccentric in terms of food. The best part of this restaurant is that you can have good tasty food and also have a budget bill. I have been to Alibaug several times and Morya is my one of the top recommendations. I was in Nagaon beach and especially I drove for lunch at Morya to kihim.
About food they serve some authentic maharashtrian food. Seafood is best. Even their chicken is lajawab. If you love little masaledaar khana come here. We took egg thali and chicken thali. They were splendid. My Mom is veg so she had baigan masala. I must tell you she doesn't like outside food but she loved their baigan masala. Whenever in Kihim do try it out and I am sure if you try it once you...
Read moreThe place is really good. There are three areas terrace open area where there are huts with round tables, then AC and NON-AC sections. The hotel doesn't have ACCESSIBLE entrance ♿ and no accessibility feature. The whole town doesn't have much cases of corona so not much serious precautionary measures are taken, mask are compulsory. The food is BEST have sea food (not other dishes, being in Alibaugh it's a must eaten food) i would highly recommend Prawns masala dry with Bhakri. Also, don't forget to have Sol Kadhi with it as a drink ( little spicy, appetizing). They are open and serve food till 11pm and the kitchen closes soon so be on time for lunch/dinner. The price of food is very reasonable and cheap with worth amount of...
