Prabha Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Visited Prabha Garden restaurant with my Dad for dinner on a Sunday. I had a lot about their Butter Chicken from friends, so wanted to try it out.

The ambiance here is okay because of the trees and cool breeze, but they play the music quite loud. It gets difficult to have conversations sometimes. Also, most notably, the waiting times are unreasonably long. I get that it was a Sunday night, but it took them like 45 minutes to get the food out.

We ordered Chicken Alishan kebab and Chicken Tikka kebab as starters. The Alishan kebab was not listed in their menu and was recommended as a speciality by their staff. It was similar to Afghani kebab but was only 4 pieces and since we were quite hungry and the mains were going to take time, we ordered the Chicken Tikka kebab as well. It was good but nothing great and paired well with the mint chutney provided as an accompaniment.

For the main course we had Butter Chicken and Lacchha Parathas. The parathas were really nice, can't say I enjoyed the chicken, though. For one, there was little actual chicken in there. It was mostly just a thick gravy. And it was way too sweet, even for a Butter Chicken.

We also had a single Chicken Biryani to round the meal off, which we shared in two. It was not that good. They should really work on the taste.

The bill came to ₹1245, which I think is mostly just ambiance charges, because the food definitely doesn't justify the cost. Besides, they charged ₹30 per bottle of water, which is extortion, not to mention illegal.

We had roti, rice and dal. All of it were well done. Even the lassi was done well.

The kids enjoyed the nice little park within...
